Two Years Later.
2000.

..Daichi flipped back and forth on his bed. Grunting and groaning as he did. With a yell of frustration that woke him, he sat up from his bed. The blankets draping down from his body. He was huffing, and sweating. He took a small glance around the guest room he had been staying in with Dr. Serizawa. Two years. Two years ago everything was changed suddenly and forever. Suddenly and forever.. and he hated it. As he sat up from the bed and shambled through the apartment, he knew for a fact he wasn't quite alone either. Serizawa had left the television on. HIs hair covering his face, he turned and narrowed his eyes. Listening.

"But for how long are we going to allow our money to be sunk by the hundreds, thousands! Into Monarch's mission? The world wasn't aware of Monarch till' just two years ago. It was miserable to go everyday hearing some sort of debate on Monarch's existence. A woman spoke in response to the man's comment. He knew her, she was a representative to Monarch.. Never quite caught her name though. "Monarch was kept a secret from the public to ensure no mass panic!" The man grunted, "Japan lost it's capital, ma'am. Tokyo is a completely uninhabitable wasteland!" Daichi watched, slouching against the couch as drone footage played. Tokyo.. He recognized the street it was showing. Mainly due to how devastated it was.. Entire buildings toppled over, and streets blanketed in the debris and rubble. But there was more.
The rubble was coated in some sort of moss, a blanket of fog covering the land. The still standing buildings were overrun in some sort of vine overgrowth. Daichi had been aware this was happening, but nonetheless it was shocking to see. Hurtful even. He and his family grew up in Tokyo.. He had neither his home, nor family now. And anytime those thoughts came popping up again his first thought was to shut them out. So he did. He took the remote and switched the channel, tossing it to the side and quickly getting up from the couch. He rushed blindly into the kitchen, mindlessly making himself a bowl of cereal.
As he did, he couldn't help but recount other details from the two years that have come. The world was still changing and evolving. New Blackborn had appeared across the world, more specifically localized in Japan though. Three Blackborn appeared. First to come after Tokyo's destruction was the BB04. The Gyaos. They had ravaged the small city of Shibuya, where another massive creature defended. BB05, Gamera. But only one has raised absolute hell across Japan for the past few months.. BB06, Kamacuras. But still a question remained. Where was Godzilla? Not long after Godzilla fled Tokyo, a nuclear weapon was used. Rumors emerged he was killed, others emerged that he lived.. But Daichi knew better. And so did Serizawa. You couldn't kill that thing with any ordinary weapon. That.. Thing. That thing's rage was too powerful to let it die. That abhorrent afront against na-

Ding.

Daichi whipped his head around, placing down the box of cereal. He rushed to the door and peaked through the eye-hole before opening. Behind it was Serizawa, stumbling as he almost dropped boxes and bags of groceries everywhere. "A hand please, son!-" Daichi lunged and grabbed a few bags from him, holding the door open with his foot to allow him to walk in without trouble. He followed behind, setting bags onto the counter. Serizawa released his arms, simply letting them just drop all over the table. He sighed, taking a seat. "We were running low on quite a few things." He said between breathes. Daichi took a seat next to him, "Yeah, I can tell."
Serizawa turned his head, trying to get a good look at the Television from the dining room. "You change the channels? Did you at least see some of Ms. Gojo's interview?" Oh. That was her name.. Last one, at least. Daichi cleared his throat, "Yeah, a bit. It's just the usual debate.. Debates on Monarch's funding, and.. Tokyo. Tokyo hasn't gotten any better." Serizawa huffed through his nose, "I'm aware. We've tried our best to contain growth, but we can't find the damn source of it.." He rubbed his temple, sighing. "We've been finding something quite strange though.. Chunks taken out of some of the fauna. Like something's eating it. We want to believe it's just animals but- That large?.." Daichi rested his head against his hand, thinking to himself. Only one question felt necessary to ask though.
"Jet Jaguar. What about Jet Jaguar?"
