Digital Love Triangle [TADC Pomni x Jax Fanfiction]

Opening her multicolored, red and blue spiraled eyes from a night's slumber, within seconds of waking, Pomni almost immediately yawns, cupping her small, gloved hand around her agape mouth.  Stretching both arms into the air and taking in the beginning of her day. 

"Rise and shine! An adventure is AFOOT!"

Though she was expecting her morning routine of Caine's shrilling, energetic hollers and vast variety of excruciating and exhausting adventures to begin,  his morning calls never fail  to startle her- every time. 

Pomni peers out her door and begins stepping out of her room, but halts when she sees a tense Jax with a skittish look of worry towering over her. 

"Hey there-.. You-.... you wouldn't mind if I went on in and told you- something? Would.. ya?" Jax asks timidly with both hands behind his back, followed by a constant back and fourth sway of his body. "Listen, bud it's ok if you don't wanna talk- or if ya.." He pauses and mutters under his breath, "...don't even want anything to do with me-" Jax's head tilts to the floor and leans on Pomni's doorway.  

Pomni tilts her head in confusion- she had never seen Jax act this way- his sudden change of behavior came off as somewhat meek. 

"Come on.. in?" She obliges as she shuffles out of Jax's way, pulling the door open  and letting him in.  

Pomni goes on to sit on her bed patting the space beside her, welcoming Jax to sit with her- about a year ago, she would've been terrified to have even had someone around her, she had warmed up to everyone in the circus by now.  

Jax sits beside Pomni and scratches one of his long ears. "Hey would you mind ge- I got it" He springs off the bed and closes the door of Pomni's bedroom and comes back to his original spot.  

"You've been acting- different.. " Pomni adds. From straight-faced to wearing a playful sneer, she chimes, "It's like you're nice!" she bumps Jax's elbow with her own, but her brows furrow and her smile lowers when she sees Jax's yellow eyes roll with his matching yellow frown. "Shut up, short stuff." He hisses but immediately takes his words back, "Wa-wai- wait!" He puts his hands up Infront of him. "I'm only joking- ay!" He forces his mouth into a smile and puts his hand on Pomni's shoulder

The two were interrupted when Caine had dramatically teleported to the room

"You two, what IS TAKING YOU SO LONG!?" He shouts "We've got OODLES AND OODLES of adventures that are just- calling our names!" 

Jax flinches back. "For someone like you, I'd imagine you'd have better dental care, woof!" Jax fans his face and pushes Caine back. "Geez, I was only tryna wake her up." He says, lying through his mac and cheese colored teeth.  "I got this, we were just about to get outta here." 

Caine, being very offended, teleports away.

"Listen...toots- I don't know about you, but....."  He sighs

Pomni puts her hand on Jax's knee. When he notices that, he tries his best to gloss over it. "Take your time, Jax." She pulls her hand away in embarrassment. 

"Ah, just forget it." Jax lifts himself off the bed and vacates Pomni's room.  He comes back and peeks his head from the doorway "I'd come along if I were you. Gums over there is a big fan of those adventures of his." Jax says, pointing his thumb behind him and leaving.
