The early morning of January 2nd, 1996 two one-day-old newborn babies…twins, were left on the doorstep of an Orphanage in the pouring rain.
Everyone around was slowly reigning in their New Year Celebrations in New York City. Which made it easier for the Man to drop the babies at the front step of The Orphanage. He rang the bell and disappeared into the still bustling streets of The City.

The Girl Twin was named Ray Mond by one of the 6 year old girls Emmi, she thought it was a ‘badass’ name. The Boy Twin was adopted before he could be named by any of the kids, the couple just wanted him.
Ray would always tell people ‘Ray Mond. First Name Ray, Last Name Mond’ to everyone she met from the moment she could make complete sentences, mimicking Emmi. It became her catchphrase.
The first time Ray felt truely abandoned, wasn't when she was brought back to the orphanage by her latest Foster Family but instead was when she learnt Emmi had been put into a group home for girls 12 and older as she hadn't been getting any foster placements for over a year. Ray cried that night, curled under the blanket on Emmis bunk. she always thought Emmi would be there for her, how wrong she was. The world was cruel.
At eleven-years-old Ray had been in countless Foster Homes, each deeming her too rowdy for their families. So The Orphanage's last resort was to place her in the All Girls Group Home.
Ray packed her bag. she had kept Emmis blanket that she had left for her, she folded it into her backpack at the very top of the clothes she had stuffed at the bottom. Ray hoped Emmi was still in the Group Home as she wouldn't have been 18 yet.
The eleven-year-old had a lot of spirit, the owner of the Orphanage thought, as Ray bounced happily into the car that had arrived to take her to her new home till she was 18. She was excited to meet new people and kids her own age, she hoped she would make some friends but also hoped that Emmi would still be there.
The drive left far too long for the overly energetic child, she was fiddling with the cuffs of her sleeves, bouncing her leg up and down, she even started tracing shapes on the window. She really hated New York traffic. As soon as the car came to a stop Ray instantly bounced out of the car.
“Slow down” The driver called as Ray was hopping up the front steps of the brick building towards the front door. The brown wooden door swung open revealing a neatly dressed middle-aged lady.
“you must be Ray Mond” The Lady spoke so elegantly that Ray's mouth slightly opened in awe, she had never met someone like her before.
“Yes, I’m Ray Mond. First Name Ray, Last Name Mond” Ray giggled at the all too familiar saying.
“Come inside, there's someone here that wants to show you around” The Lady turns and starts walking back inside, Ray took this as her indication to follow her.
Ray's eyes followed the paintings on the wall, taking in all the different colours. She noticed that the ceiling was super high and had star stickers on it, she loved stars.
A Teenager with blonde hair stood up as The Lady approached. “Emmi?” Ray gasped, she would recognise her anywhere.
“Emmi will show you around”
“Thankyou Miss Iris” Emmi smiles as Iris walks off towards her office.
“Thankyou” Ray calls loudly and snickers as Emmi gives her a disapproving look.
“I've missed you so much” Ray squeals as she wraps her arms around Emmis waist.
“I missed you too little one” Emmi smiles, placing her arm at the top of Ray's dark brown hair.
“I'll show you where you're sleeping, and around the rest of the Home” Emmi says as her and Ray continue walking through the halls, they continue towards a spiral staircase. “Remember to watch your step, I know how clumsy you can be”.
-------------------------------
Emmi had left Ray to attend dinner by herself as she had studying to do. Ray was a ball of nerves about meeting the rest of the girls in the group home. She was wearing her favourite red shirt that had a cute flower at the neckline. Ray had practically thrown the doors to the dining room open and bounced in, her wild energy radiating the air. A few girls around 14-years-old snickered to each other while another group of girls closer to Rays age whispered amongst each other while staring at her weirdly.
Ray fiddled with the belt loops on her jeans as she eyed the tabling for an available seat. Ray found one seat left near the far left side of the table, furthest from the door. She walked past all the girls trying to not make eye contact with the ones still snickering to each other. Ray was never good at making friends, but she could tell which ones wouldn't want to be hers.
“Hi, I'm Daisy” A girl with long wavy brown hair said, she sat at the very end of the table.
“Hi, I'm Ray Mond. First Name Ray, Last Name Mond”
Daisy giggled “do you say that a lot?”
“all the time” Ray grinned widely back.
Ray and Daisy became inseparable from that day, the two girls were always outside in their own make-shift world of imagination. Living in Castles, fighting dragons, anything their young minds could think of. Some days Emmi would sit on the grass on a blanket, reading her book as she watched the two girls playing.
Daisy had told Ray that the other girls weren't kind to her because she was ‘crazy’, Daisy was happy to find a friend in Ray.
Emmi had turned 18 a couple of months after Ray had been reunited with her.
“I don't want you to leave” Ray cried loudly as she wrapped herself around Emmi's hips, her head buried into the side of the older girl.
“Little One everything will be fine, you have Daisy” Emmi whispered as she stroked Ray's long brown hair, trying to sooth the younger girl.
The next day Emmi was gone from the group home and Ray stayed in her room the whole day crying.

I hope you guys liked it!! the first few chapters will be based around Ray Monds life before moving to Los Santos.
Emmi was the only Original Character i was going to keep around originally but a friend of mine helped me with the idea for Daisy and that i should give Ray at least one friend.
Emmis 'Little One' nickname for Ray is 100% intentional IYKYK
