"It's me and (Y/N), we've been the sources of information for Mom."
"IT WAS YOU?? AND (Y/N)?!" Emma shrieked in the woods, hands on her head, mouth agape, and eyes almost boggling out their sockets. I only kicked a rock on the ground nervously as I rubbed my hands together.
"Ah.. sorry about that reaction, but I still don't understand.." Emma had calmed down and we explained mine and Rays situation to her.
"So Ray, you betrayed us, but you're not the enemy. You did this for our sake.. and (Y/N) you were technically manipulated to get revenge, in exchange to live as a Mom?" Emma asked. My excuse was more awful when put into different words from someone else than Mom. I felt ashamed.
"The truth is, I was going to tell you guys as soon as you came back from the gate. But you left little bunny behind, started saying you wanted to take everyone alone. It was very unexpected." Ray said after the deadly silence that had followed Emma's questions to me, that I refused to answer.
"Mom had found out about the situation.. and then (Y/N) arrived.. so did Sister Krone. Plus you guys were being reckless, that's why I figured I should keep quiet and bring this under control-ish." The list had went on and on for his excuses. When he brought up my name I frowned while crossing my arms.
"So you were covering up our mistake, and were so against taking everyone that you had to maneuver behind our backs." Emma hissed. She still had a grudge against Ray for not wanting to take everyone along.
"But it's different now!" I shook my hands at Emma, smiling. Any more from Ray and I feared he would say something stupid of his proposal last night.
"Norman figured out we were both the traitors and convinced us. Especially you Emma, your words moved me.." I admitted as my face turned a shade of pink as I smiled out of nervousness.
"Yeah, and this time I'll definitely help you escape with everyone." Ray added, his tone and accents on certain words made me internally smack my head; it was like he blew his cover again, for the second time. He turned around ready to go back to his spot under his tree.
"But that's not like you! If you don't initially change your mind about something, you never do." Emma stopped Ray from leaving us, him stopping in his tracks. I bit my lip nervously, waiting for an answer from him, or for her to tackle him down.
"So do you think he's lying?" I asked, silence so quiet even outside that we could hear a pin drop even amiss the leaves rustling. Maybe I asked to push Rays button, as he shot me a 'shut up' glare as he turned back around to face us.
"Nope! I'm happy. Ray's going to help all of us escape. And now, we have information to trick Mom from the inside! It's great!" She threw her arms up in the air, as I sighed from relief. I really felt like Ray was lying to us, his words couldn't hide his body giving away what he truly felt.
"But, can I ask one thing? What happened to the kid you said you've experimented on? You didn't cause them to be shipped out early, right? You didn't sacrifice someone for our sake?" The words sacrifice pierced me as well, as she looked over at me, then back at Ray.
"Actually, nevermind. It's okay, thanks. Because of it, we can now all run away but..." Emma waved her hands, brushing off her question, and took a step towards Ray. She grabbed his hand with both of hers, looking up and with a stare so intimidating I didn't even know she could make, she spoke;
