Jimin pov.
I strolled into The Bean coffee shop right at three thirty. The delightful scent of freshly roasted coffee beans enveloped me as I approached the counter and quickly scanned the cozy space. No sign of Jungkook yet. Hopefully, he wouldn't be running late; after all, it was Sunday, and they closed early. I had agreed to meet him after his swim team gathering. The Bean was the ideal spot for the Angel Tree project, given its constant flow of customers. Working on it there seemed like a great idea, especially in the warm and inviting atmosphere with its neutral tones, soft lighting, and the rich aroma of their freshly roasted coffee. And let's not forget the temptation of indulging in a gingerbread latte.
Jessie was working the counter, handing a customer their change and a cup of coffee as I walked up. I put my hand up in a little wave.
"Hey, cutie," Jessie said. "What's up?"
"Nothing. Just meeting someone here," I said, unsure of why I was being called cute since I am a guy.
"Oh, is it boy? Is he cute? Someone from school?" Jessie's eyes glittered with interest.
I chuckled at her enthusiasm. "I don't know. Cute is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose. It's Jeon Jungkook."
"Definitely not cute then, because he's a total hottie."
Was he hot? I suppose if you considered annoying boys with broad shoulders and muscular arms hot.
An image of him as we stood toe-to-toe on his house flickered in my head, and my cheeks caught fire as I remembered the way his long-sleeved shirt clung to his chest. I bet his abs were hard as concrete from all that swimming.
Did I really just think that?
I grunted a noncommittal response, then ordered a gingerbread latte. As Jessie got to work on my drink, she glanced up at me from behind the espresso machine. "Are you guys working on the project thing?"
I groaned. "You heard about that, too?"
"Has anyone not heard about that?" She laughed and flicked her long hair out of her face.
"I'm going down as the crazy boy who tried to choke someone, aren't I?"
"In truth? Most of the people, except for the MG's, think it was pretty awesome. I mean, the boy pummeled you with the ball and you fought back. It was savage ." She reassured me.
I took a hesitant sip of my latte, careful not to burn myself as the chimes on the door behind me rang. I turned just in time to see Jungkook stroll inside like he owned the place. When his gaze caught mine, he gave me a head nod, before saying hi to Jessie.
"See? So hot," Jessie muttered under her breath
and I glanced back at her with a frown.
When Jungkook sidled up next to me, he casually tucked his hands into his pockets and inquired, "You ready?"
Jessie chimed in, "Don't you want some coffee? I can whip up something super sweet for you," with a sultry tone.
I glanced at her, taken aback by her sudden shift from friendly to alluring. Leaning provocatively over the counter, she flaunted ample cleavage while batting her eyelashes.
However, Jungkook seemed unfazed or uninterested, as his gaze remained fixed on me. He swiftly grabbed my cup and took a sip.
"Hey!" I protested, reaching for it. "Now it's contaminated with your germs." I wrinkled my nose in disgust as he returned it, giving me a wink.
I brushed off the warmth creeping up my cheeks and grabbed my sweater sleeve to theatrically wipe the lid of my cup, glaring at him intensely. Unperturbed, he gestured towards it and remarked, "I'll have one of those."
