The love journey that seemed impossible at first.

– It was a midweek day in early January when my friend Umar, like a brother to me, charged his phone at my shop. Immediately after he left, he missed a call from a girl named Fa'izah, who was a classmate from primary school to me and a current coursemate to Umar at DAC-Mando, I knew her and her family, including her sisters and relatives who live with us in Unguwan Bawa.

– I watched the phone ring until it hung up,When Umar returned, I mentioned that someone had called, but he wasn't around. As he prepared to return the call, I jokingly told him, You know, I have a crush on Aysher, Fa'izah's second younger sister.

– He asked if I was serious or just teasing him. I confirmed, Yes, absolutely! He then returned the call, and they exchanged greetings as our faith teaches us,they discussed the purpose of the call, and just as they were about to cut off the call.

– It was just the two of us in the shop, as it was almost 15 minutes to 10 pm. He then told her not to hang up, as there was something important he wanted to discuss with her. As I heard him say those words, I quickly interjected, No, please, I was just joking!

– He didn't listen to me, knowing it took all my courage to look him straight in the eye and confess that I loved someone's sister. Instead, he said, Sagir has a message for you and your younger sister! She was wowed and asked what the message was.

– He said, "Sagir loves Aysher - Umaymerh." She burst into laughter and replied in a playful voice, Did he really mean it?, Undoubtedly, he replied. She then asked him to hand me the phone, but Umar tried his best to get me to take it, and all his efforts failed because I was too shy to surmount my hesitation at the moment.

– Fa'izah told Umar to greet me since I didn't take the phone to hear what she had to say. What I didn't know was that when Umar and Fa'izah were on the phone, it was on speakerphone,(Loudspeaker) and Aysher was sitting next to her, so she heard everything that happened.

– I pretended not to know for two days before Umar finally told me that Fa'izah had informed him that Umaymerh would be coming to Unguwan Bawa for her friend's Quranic ceremony (walimah) on January 11th. However, I was busy preparing for school resumption at the time and missed meeting her.

– Unfortunately, Aysher's elder sister, Maryam, came to my shop looking for cash on that very day. I started sweating, thinking she was with Aysher, my then-crush, and Umaymerh, my current love of my life (LOML).

–  But luckily, I soon realized she was alone and in a hurry. It took all my courage to raise my eyebrows and look into Maryam's eyes. We exchanged greetings in a friendly voice, and she told me she needed to withdraw 2,000 naira from our pos machine. I withdrew the cash from her card without charging her, knowing she's like family to me rn.

– She bought two Cappuccino biscuits for 100 naira and didn't have enough change for the 1,000 naira, so I told her to keep the money . She thanked me, and we went our separate ways.

– After I resumed school, I messaged Maryam on WhatsApp, telling her that I knew she was aware of the recent developments. She laughed and asked, 'What's the way out now? You know better than the shyest me I replied, She then shared Aysher's 11- digits phone number with me, and that's where the journey of UMNOOR began.

– I called her in the next couple of days, and within 24 hours, we had settled into a comfortable rhythm. In less than a month, we seemed like lovers who had been together for over a decade. She is the only one who holds the reins of my heart; she gives her all to me, and I do the same for her.

– She is young, calm, Western-educated, and Islamically raised - falling for her has reshaped my heart and healed every ache that lingered since the painful exit of my last love.

– Before Bintool Jannah entered my life, I considered myself an alpha male. However, since she came into my life, she has effortlessly transformed me into a simp, and I unapologetically simp for her because I love her with all my heart.

– I now fully agree that every man is a simp; it's either he is ugly, poor, or has been served a harsh reality check in life. But for me, being a simp for Bintool Jannah is a badge of honor, and I wear it proudly.
