PART 6: Not The End

!BLOOD WARNING!

Flame'paw ran straight to the sharp, long claws of Smoke'cloud. She threw them off and raked at his shoulder. 'Feather'paw, get a move on!' thought Flame'paw. They fought fiercely until Flame'paw saw a sharp, long stick. 'Must be the twoleg things.. WAIT!' She stretched until she could reach the stick, and grabbed it in her jaws. Suddenly, Smoke'cloud lunged at her neck, and Flame'paw twisted around and stabbed him right in the neck. Smoke'cloud staggered back a few steps, trying to hiss but only dark red blood flowed out. He fell akwardly on his side, a dark river of red flowing out. He jerked once with his eyes glazed, and died. Just then, the patrol arrived.

Sunheart bounded towards Flame'paw and started to inspect her wounds. Flame'paw tried to work out what Canary'star was saying.

"That was unexpected... Flame'paw must have been the chosen cat!" she was whispering to Sunheart. Flame'paw didn't know what she was talking about. She didn't ever hear of the prophecy... "Ah, Flamepaw." Canary'star says, reading her mind. "Have you not heard of the prophecy? 'A young cat will rise to combat smoke. The Clan shall be saved by the flames alone.'.
You never knew what it meant, did you?" she quoted. "You are the chosen cat. You saved the Clan, and for that.." Canary'star brought the entire Clan to watch her. She looked at her mother, who was brimming with pride and happiness.

"I, Canary'star, leader of FrostClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as a warrior in their turn.Flame'paw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do."

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Flame'paw, from this moment on you will be known as Flame'heart. StarClan honors your bravery and strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of FrostClan."

Flame'heart was dazed with injury and pride. She licked her leader's shoulder and backed away.
"Your first vigil tonight." Canary'star smiled.
