"So you've been kidding us?"
I nod. ,,Yes."
"Thank God. I really hope Hayden will be there when you have the baby." he says and walks out of the house and mumbles that it's really mean of me to do something like that.
I giggle and wait a few minutes before texting Paddy and going into the kitchen. After half an hour Paddy comes into the kitchen and is pale, Trish is standing next to him. I look back and forth between the two of them and know that I'll squeeze them both later.
Paddy looks at my wet sweatpants that I've poured water on to make it look like my water had broken. "Um... are you sure you can't just keep the baby in there?" Paddy asks as I start to scream.
"No!" Trisch and I said.
"How many times do the contractions come and go?" Trisch asks.
"Five minutes," I lied.
"Okay, Paddy, you better go get your mom and we'll call Hayden on the way and say we're taking you to the hospital," Trisch says. and I like that she's so calm and knows what she's doing.
"Paddy?" she asks.
We both look at Paddy, whose face has gone even paler and then he falls to the floor. Trisch and I look at each other in shock and kneel down, well, I stop and bend down.
I look at my little brother, who is passed out on my kitchen floor and not moving.
"Oh God," I say. "Paddy, can you hear me?" I ask.
Trish shakes Paddy's shoulder and tries to wake him up, I get a bottle of water from the fridge, unscrew the lid and pour the water on Paddy's face.
He wakes up, gasps and sits down, looking confused between me and Trish.
"Please tell me you had the baby." he says, making me laugh.
"I'm not having the baby today." I assure him.
"Oh, okay, that's good. Because I hope Hayden will be here." He stands up and sits down on the bar stool.
"So you want to tell me what's going on between you two?" I ask.
Trish's face turns red, as does Paddy.
"Are you two together?" I ask.
They both shake their heads. "No." says Trish.
"We want to be friends first." says Paddy and smiles at Trish.
"Sweet girl, are you home?" calls Hayden.
"In the kitchen with Paddy and Trish." I called back.
"Your girlfriend is really crazy, man." says Paddy and gets up from the bar stool. "She tricked me into having the baby."
"And then Paddy fainted." I say. "But Trish did a good job, I think if you're not home I'll call Trish."
