Keith once again sat atop his cliff, deep in thought.

The wind whipped around him, a constant reminder of the tumultuous emotions within.

He didn't realize Allura was there until she sat down next to him, gazing out at the city, not sparing him a glance.

The two sat like that for a while, silently enjoying each other's presence.

"I'm not mad at you, Keith," Allura said suddenly, breaking the silence.

Keith looked at her, slightly surprised. "I don't understand why you're not. You have every right to be," he huffed, looking away once more. "I mean, I kept the fact that Lance is still alive from most of you."

Allura sighed. "I thought I would be too, but I think I understand why you did it, though. Keep the secret, I mean."

Keith remained silent, his eyes fixed on the horizon.

"You thought you were insane. I mean, once a mate dies, the bond is meant to fade," she paused. "But yours didn't. Then Romelle tells you that there is a possibility he may be alive, and you realized you weren't crazy." She smiled slightly.

A weight Keith didn't even know rested on his shoulders lifted. He let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding.

"Between you and me, I'm also not mad at Romelle. I wouldn't have believed Lance was alive if she just told me," Allura admitted, her voice soft.

Keith's mind wandered to the moments he had doubted himself, the sleepless nights, the constant anxiety.

"It was torture, you know? Thinking I was losing my mind," he confessed.

Allura nodded, her eyes filled with empathy. "I can't imagine what you went through. The uncertainty must have been unbearable."

Keith glanced at her, his expression softening. "It was. But knowing there's a chance thats he acually out there, it gives me hope. And hope is something I haven't felt in a long time."

"Hope is powerful," Allura agreed. "It's what keeps us going, even in the darkest times."

Keith nodded, feeling a sense of camaraderie with Allura that he hadn't felt in a long time. "Thank you for understanding."

"You don't have to thank me, Keith. We're a team. We support each other, no matter what."

Keith sighed, his shoulders relaxing a bit. "It's just... I've been carrying this burden alone for so long. It's a relief to share it with someone."

Allura placed a hand on his shoulder. "You're not alone. You never were. We're all in this together. You me and everyone who wants Lance home"

Keith smiled, a genuine smile that reached his eyes. "I know. And I appreciate it. More than you know."

The two of them sat in silence again, the weight of their conversation settling between them.

The city below continued its bustling, unaware of the profound moment shared above.

"You know," Allura said after a while, "Lance would be proud of you. For never giving up on him."

Keith's eyes glistened with unshed tears. "I hope so. He means everything to me."

Allura squeezed his shoulder. "And you mean everything to him. That's why he'll come back. Because he knows you're waiting."

Keith nodded, swallowing the lump in his throat. "He has to come back. He just has to."

"And he will," Allura reassured him. "We'll make sure of it."

Keith took a deep breath, the determination in Allura's voice bolstering his resolve. "Thank you, Allura. For everything."

Allura smiled, her eyes warm. "Anytime, Keith. Anytime."

"I just can't wait to see him," Keith smiled, enjoying the butterflies that swarmed his belly at the idea of seeing his mate in the flesh again.

Allura returned the smile. "I just want my little brother home."
