"Balance."
The cold morning wind ruffled Frostshard's pelt as he recited the first few moves of Makashi, his main form of combat. He leaped into the air, claws slashing off the tips of the jagged stones protruding from the ground, each blow deadly accurate.
"Preciseness."
Birds squawked with alarm as he conjured huge boulders to fly at him; within seconds and a flash of purple lightning, all that was left was debris.
The sun was starting to come up now, yet he still didn't feel satisfied with his new moves; he was just experimenting by mixing Makashi and Ataru, seeing if it would work as well on an enemy.
"Elegaaeeeeeehhhaahhgghhhh!!!"
The tip of Frostshard's claw hung between a single mouse length from Seersight's face.
"Hello, Frosty." the healer meowed cooly, gently pushing the white cat's paw away from his muzzle.
"Great Starclan, please don't scare me like that." Frostshard hissed at Seersight, who grinned cheekily back.
Sunlight doused the cliffs of the Dawnclan temple, and the kits, noticing the bright light, shot out of the cave, squeaking and grappling with each other while knights watched them while sunning themselves.
"But it's funny!" Seersight laughed.
"You should have seen the look on your face."
"Seriously, I could have killed you back there!" Frostshard frowned at the healer.
"It's sweet that you care, but really, I have common sense than to get myself killed."
"Do you remember the first time we met?"
"You were hiding underneath those very boulders, and I persuaded you to come out from there." Seersight glanced at the spot, now overgrown with vines and flowers, hiding the creases with bundles of lush green.
"Why all this nostalgia?" Frostshard's whiskers twitched with amusement.
"Does everything have to have a reason?" Seersight smiled, purring softly as the white cat twined his tail on his own. He was so warm for a cat with such a cold name.
"I just like being with-"
The healer cried out in sudden pain, twitching violently, claws leaving deep gouge marks in the stone.
"Seersight!" Frostshard yowled with alarm. "Si, what's wrong?"
"A storm..." Seersight moaned, paws clutching his head. "It's burning. Flames rushing in. Cats dying. Chaos and death everywhere-"
"Where? Seersight. Look at me. Focus on me."
Frostshard reached out into the healer's mind, and was instantly met with roaring flames and the loud clap of thunder.
"Not again!" Starrysky's mew sounded nearby as she raced toward the two cats, a wild look in her eyes.
"Starrysky, something's wrong with Seersight!" Frostshard had to raise his voice over the healer's agonized wailing.
He knew his friend suffered with visions, but never like this.
It had gotten worse over the years.
