Tenko stared at the door to his room while he waited for you. You'd told him you needed to make a few phone calls and print out some papers, so he'd have to stay put for now.

Everything was quite a shock to be honest. Countless people passed him by without giving him so much as a crumb of food, yet you were here giving him a whole room!

Tenko jumped when he heard two knocks on his door.

"Tenko, can I come in?"

"Y-yes!"
He managed to say despite his sore throat.

"I talked to the police and filed a report for you, they'll be here tomorrow with your information and any belongings left in the wreckage,"

"How do you...?"

"My quirk lets me see and sense other people's emotions. With emotions as strong as yours, I was able to see what'd caused them,"

He held his hands close to his stomach,
"So you know then..."

You sighed, ruffling his hair gently,
"I do. And I'm so sorry for what happened, Tenko,"

The little boy just hummed in response, not really wanting to verbally respond with anything. Well at least he knew you weren't afraid of him.

"Would you like me to show you where you can wash up? I bet a nice hot bath would do you some good,"

Sounded good to him!

He hopped off the bed and followed you out the door.

"First, let's get you some clothes to change into for after your bath. Lucky for you, a nice lady dropped off some of her son's old clothes,"

Sorted into boxes were some children's clothes that'd fit him, though they seemed pretty vintage compared to his tastes.

"Pick whatever you want, I already washed them,"

He managed to find some clothes with characters he was just barely able to recognize, and was soon on his way to the bathroom with you. You made sure to tell him all the important information.

"I've set it up so the water won't be too high for you, and there's a little ladder built in if you need help getting out,"
Along with that, you helped him with the water controls and soap information.

As the tub filled up, Tenko watched with confusion as you dipped your hands into the warm water.
"Time to give you the (y/n) special!"

Amazed, Tenko watched as colorful streaks flowed from your hands into the water, fading over time but still visible enough to enjoy.

"Water makes my quirk visible. Put your hand in,"

Tenko hesitantly dipped his ungloved hand in the water, and gasped in shock as a feeling of comfort enveloped him.

"Nice, right? I'll leave you to it now. Don't stay in too long, we don't want you turning into a prune!"

And so he was by himself soaking in the suds.

How long had it been since he had a hot bath? Man it felt good on his aching little body! Not to mention his cracked skin. It was like all the impurities in his body were being washed away. If only.

Tenko finished his bath and got changed, enjoying the feeling of being clean.

"You picked out a nice outfit, kid,"
You complimented, leading him to what seemed to be a dining room.

"I'm almost done with dinner, if you're bored, there are books underneath the table,"

He sat right down at the long wooden table, sitting still. Whatever you were cooking smelled good, and he hoped its taste just as good.

Soon enough, dinner was served, a nice hearty stew with some garlic bread.

"I have regular bread if you're not into garlic,"
You offered, but he shook his head, eating all the food you gave him gratefully.

Though he ate the whole meal, his eyes still carried a little hunger, so when offered seconds, he happily accepted. It was good that he had an appetite, especially considering he was probably out on the streets for a while.

Once he'd fully satisfied his stomach, he decided to finally ask some questions.

"What is this place?"
He asked, having some thoughts of his own.

This place seemed sort of like a school, but it seemed really homey for some reason. And where were the students?

"You could probably tell already, but it's a school. Well more specifically, a school for troubled children,"

Tenko tilted his head,
"Troubled?"

You sighed,
"I have to use that word or else I wouldn't get the resources to keep this place afloat. If I had my way, I'd call it a school for kids who need support, but that doesn't really roll off the tongue, now does it?"

Tenko shook his head, making you chuckle.
"Parents of children with volatile or hard to control quirks will send them here, either just for the school day or for the school term,"

So that's why there were bedrooms!

"I never really have more than five kids at a time, but I try to make sure they get a good education, and get better control with their quirks,"

You leaned a little closer to the boy,
"If you decide to stay here, we can try to help you get a hold of yours,"

The boy's eyes widened,
"Y-you think you can really do that?!"

He'd do anything to control his quirk, and you could tell.

"Hopefully. But for now, I think it'd be good if you slept on it. Need me to walk you back to your room?"

He shook his head, wanting some time to himself to think.

This place seemed pretty nice, and you were a pretty good cook too... maybe he'd stay here for a while, it wasn't like he had anywhere else to be.

As he curled up in his soft bed under his plush covers, he couldn't help but wonder the kinds of students you got here.

Maybe he'd even make a friend!
