Humans called it a creature of myth... But then again the same could be said when the Asgardians frequented Earth and the stories spread as years passed. It just so happened that they found this hulking creature accidentally, or rather it found its way to Asgard by accident. Of course they knew through Odin's prodigal son that portals between worlds were everywhere and had blind spots over them, so it wasn't unthinkable to believe that something may have stumbled upon one. What did surprise them was the fact that a creature of such size, strength, and ferocity could come from Midgard.
Odin had his two wolf pets, so the species wasn't unknown to them, but this wolf was different. It could easily rival a giant in height so to imagine the sheer size of the body itself... Though it walked on all fours like expected, its shoulders were higher than its hips and its legs were longer and bent like that of a crouching human. Though each limb was the same size, the front legs were less bent and gave off the impression that they weren't. The sheer blackness of its fur rivaled that of even a starless night, its eyes a brilliant glowing amber cut down the middle by its vertical slitted pupils. The claws, like curved black daggers the same length of half a human leg, cut through many Asgardian shields like a hot knife through butter before being hit roughly over the head and being captured. The unconscious being's care was taken over by the All Father's wife herself. Though she could not sway him in the decision to imprison the beast, she visited it often after it woke. She spoke to it kindly and treated it with care, proving that she was the only one it would not attack blindly when inside its cell of magic. It didn't even know how long it had been there, the days blurred by so slowly...
When the day finally came, it awoke from a gentle slumber to see the golden barrier of magic on its cell gone, and that was it. No one saw it leave, none were aware it was even gone until it was feeding time. One would've thought that such a large beastly creature would easily be spotted out of confinement, but there was no account of it being seen at all. Little did they know it had long returned to the portal it had come to that world through and returned to its own to be lost in folklore as it had been previously...

Bruce Banner gave a tired yawn, his exhaustion showing for a brief moment as he rose from his chambers on board the helicarrier. He'd been staying with one Tony Stark since the events of New York the previous year if not to simply enjoy some time with a friend he didn't worry about losing control around. He was actually surprised when he'd gotten the call from SHIELD to return to the high-tech base. Well it wasn't just him, from what Tony had found out, rather quickly might he add, the entirety of the team was being called to bear witness to SHIELD's newest fascination, a.k.a contained threat. Unlike the others, however, he had the glorious opportunity/assignment to analyze this threat. Why? He hadn't an idea in hell since they had taken dozens of extra measures to assure that even Tony Stark couldn't find out anything he didn't need to know.
He had arrived last night, actually along with the iron hero, but thankfully, he had been given the night to rest before getting down to business. He was grateful for the thought since it was more than SHIELD usually gave. His black slacks and plum button up was grateful too. It didn't have to be worn just hours after being stuffed into a bag. He was curious as to why he was somehow the best man for this mystery job but it couldn't be helped, he was here and probably because he was once again the smartest man in the room that didn't have a tendency to get distracted.
"Doctor Banner, it's been a while." The brunette scientist turns at the sudden greeting, giving a slight grin and nodding to the blonde super soldier that followed behind.
"Captain. I assume you're on your way to see my patient as well?"
"That is why we've been called here, isn't it?" He did like Steve. Always so charming and a gentleman that provided a breath of fresh air to those around him, save for a certain billionaire he lived with.
