The shrill sound of my alarm clock pierced my perfect morning silence, it practically made my soul jump out of my body. I groaned, my hand instinctively reaching out to silence the obnoxious noise. I looked to see what time it was, like any human would do. 3:37 PM?? That's a bit late, even for me. I had originally set the alarm early, like 12:00 PM, but now it's to late.

Any other day, I would sit here and rot for the rest of daylight, but it's not a normal day. I have to save lives. Some might even call me batman.

I rub my eyes and sit up, the remnants of sleep still clinging to me. If you really think about it, why do we rub our eyes? To see better I guess. The room is dim, except for a lamp I kept on. I'm ashamed to say I'm afraid of the dark. I take in a deep breath, trying to shake off the grogginess. The alarm had done its job a little too well, and now my heart was racing awfully.

With a sigh, I swing my legs over the side of the bed and stand up, stretching my arms above my head. The day was just beginning for me, and despite the rude awakening, I felt a flicker of determination. Today is different for me, I actually have something to do with my life.

I lazily drag my legs across the room to the bathroom. I brush my teeth and wash my face, feeling the cool water invigorate my senses. And after a quick shower, I wrap myself in a fluffy towel and stood in front of the mirror, what should I wear today? I don't exactly have any clothes. So I walk over to the closet, opening it just in case. And inside holds all of my normal clothes. So I decide on wearing a grey long sleeve shirt with gems on it and a short denim skirt with tights and my signature dirty converse. I do a little bit of makeup and I'm done.

I grabbed my phone, the cash I had, and a cute black purse, heading out the door. The hallway was quiet as I made my way to the elevator. I pressed the button and waited, tapping my foot impatiently. I'm not an extremely patient person. When the doors finally opened, I stepped inside and hit the button for the ground floor. The ride down seemed to take forever, but eventually, the doors slid open, and I was free from that hell. I've always been scared of getting stuck in an elevator. They scare me to death.

Stepping out onto the street, I took a deep breath of fresh air. The city was alive with people going about their day, and the smell of food from nearby restaurants made my stomach growl. I didn't even realize I hadn't eaten since dinner last night, and I only had a few bites of that before I arrived here. So I walked down the block, scanning for a place to eat.

I spotted a charming little Italian restaurant with outdoor seating. I fucking love Italian food. The menu posted outside had pictures of delicious pasta dishes and pizzas, and my mouth watered just looking at them. This was the place I was going to eat for sure. Pasta is probably my favorite food of all. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly host who showed me to a cozy table by the window. She might have sat me by the sun to see if i'd burn. I kind of look like a vampire with my makeup and all.

I sat down and quickly glanced through the menu. Everything looked amazing, probably because I'm a big back, but I finally decided on my favorite dish of all, chicken Parmigiana. "Ma'am, what would you like to eat?" The polite waitress asked me, breaking me from almost drooling all over the menu. "Oh. May I please get the chicken Parmigiana and a water?" I replied. "Of course," she said, scribbling on her notepad. "It will be straight out." And she walked off somewhere.

The restaurant was warm and inviting, with scents of yummy food filling the air. I swear I might actually eat everything in here.

After about 10 minutes my food arrived. "Here you are!" She said setting the plate down on the table. I mumbled a thank you, cut the chicken, and shoved it all down my throat.
