"The Crystal Forest?"

Everyone was confused. They have heard about the crystal forest but never thought that dense forest would be suggested for a picnic.

It was Jun Mi who asked Semi, "Why that forest? You know how dense that area is, which means how dangerous it can be, even if we are wolves."

Semi knew questions would be raised upon this, so she came ready.

"I know that it is a dense forest. There is a clearing in the other part of it. It is wonderful with a small lake alongside it. I even have pictures; I have gone there. And rest assured, it is a safe area."

The pictures were indeed beautiful. It was as if a new world in itself. Everyone was mesmerized; even Junmi couldn't take her eyes off the place.

"Ok, so it's decided; we will be heading to the crystal forest for tomorrow's outing, especially to celebrate our taetae's birthday." Seojoon cheered, followed by everyone's enthusiastic agreement.

Yet no one noticed the smirk on Semi's face.

Night time at Taehyung's house

Taehyung was standing in the balcony, gazing at the moon. His thoughts were all over the place. He would be meeting his fated mate tomorrow. He was both excited and nervous. He had this weird feeling in his heart—a heaviness he couldn't decipher. He thought maybe it was because of his mate.

He remembers the conversation with his parents when he told them about the picnic. They asked him to come before evening, but what made him skeptical was the nervousness lingering in their voice. As if they wanted to tell him something but couldn't.

He turned around to go inside his room when a loud howl made him halt. It was so loud that the whole pack must be awake. Surprisingly, none woke up. And what he felt due to the howl left him shook to his core.

The next day...

The most anticipated day in Taehyung's life has finally arrived. Today he turns 24 and will finally be meeting his mate.

He woke up early to get ready for the picnic. Having a light breakfast with his family, he headed out of his house and saw his friends and colleagues waiting for him.

"Good morning, everyone."

"Good morning. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TAETAE." Everyone cheered, hugging Taehyung.

"Haha, thank you, everyone. It feels like you guys are more excited about my birthday than me." Taehyung was extremely happy seeing their genuine smile for him.

"Of course we are excited. Our tae is 24 now and is soon going to meet his mate." Seojoon had a smug smile on his face while mentioning Taehyung's mate, which left him a blushing mess.

"Ok ok. Let's go now or we will be late. We have to come back early too, right?" Semi said as she wanted to reach the forest as soon as possible to execute her plan.

Hearing her, everyone got seated inside the cars and left for The Crystal Forest.

Inside The Crystal Forest

The true blood alpha was out for hunting in the dense forest. His Ruby eyes, scanning the environment with stealth, sensed movement behind the bushes.

Just as he was about to approach them, a deer sprang out from behind the bushes, running for its life, away from the wolf.

The true blood ran behind the deer, speeding so fast that it caught up with the deer in no time. But what he didn't notice was the missing trees and the sound of water falling.
