When Lauren reached home, after meeting with Agent Moscoon outside the police station, she couldn't hold in the anger she had bottled up inside her anymore.

She started screaming, a really piercing scream that could possibly make a person go deaf.

While she screamed, she threw pillows everywhere, but her actions gets worst.

A few vases had been broken by her. She also threw a few punches onto some of the glass windows until they shattered into pieces. Blood started oozing out of her hands unhealthily. It seemed that her massive anger had boosted her strength.

She finally calmed down, took the first aid kit in the top cabinet and bandaged her hands. Then she started cleaning up the broken vases and glass and put the pillows back to their places.

This is the first time my anger was uncontrollable.....

Lauren regretted breaking the glass windows because insects had an easy opening into her house.

She quickly called a glazier to come and fix the windows.

The next morning, which was a Sunday, she went to buy some vases to replace the ones she broke yesterday.

As she was walking back to her car with vases in her arms, out of the blue, she saw a blond haired man who was wearing a blue suit.

It was Jacob's boss.

She was so shocked, she almost drop the vases.

"Weren't you overseas?? I thought......" Lauren asked in a high-pitched surprised tone.

"What on earth are you talking about? I haven't been overseas for ages! Who are you anyway--Oh, Jacob's fiancé." The boss, Mr Arnold was surprised as well. But he still kept that formal expression.

"But Agent Moscoon said--"

"By the way, Jacob has been taking french leave, why? Where is he? This is the very first time he did this."

Lauren put down the vases and looked at him with wide eyes. How could he not know? The cheque wasn't from him?!

"You.....never knew that.....Jacob......died??"

Then who wanted to give me that $1000 cheque?

Mr Arnold's formal expression suddenly disappeared.

"Hold on a second, what?? He's dead?! My best worker is dead?? How?!"

"He.....was murdered." Lauren told him with a shaky voice, obvious that she wasn't over her grief yet.

"My condolences to you. I shall give you a cheque in return for Jacob's service--"

"It's okay. I don't need it. I've already received one."

Mr Arnold suddenly looked at his watch and his eyes widen. He waved goodbye to me and ran towards a building. It seemed that he had a meeting to attend.

Lauren could barely digest what had just happened. She picked up the vases and went home.

She spent the whole journey, thinking about why Mr Arnold, Amelia, Korra never knew about Jacob's death. Even Mr Greg, Lauren's boss was surprised when she told him the terrible news.

However, she couldn't think of an answer.

It seemed that nobody knew about it except for the cops and her.

Agent Moscoon.......

Why did you give me that $1000 cheque?
