Chapter 1

Transmigration

Once she opened her eyes again, Yun Tang released a deep sighed.

She's still here.

Slowly, Yung Tang sat up and began to fix her beddings.

While doing it, her dilapitated wooden door was knocked vigorously, making her wonder if it would break anytime soon. It was then followed by a loud complaining voice of a woman. Who would it be other than the stepmother of the original owner.

"B*tch, the sun was already scorching hot yet you're still sleeping like a dog. Do you still want us to wait for you like a landlord?? See if I didn't plunge you, useless thing, to death once you go out of this room if you continue to laze around!! Hurry up now and cook, we're already starving to death here..,"

Hearing this vulgar words again, made her head throbbed and face grimace in displeasure.

So, she hurriedly finished fixing her beddings. In just two steps, she made her way to the door while tying her hair with a straw.

On the other side, hearing no response inside the room, Zhou De, became more furious and instead of knocking she kicked the door while yelling more louder than the last.

"Sl*t, are you deaf!? Still pretending to be weak from the fall, see if I didn't really dragged you and drowned you to death myself, so that we won't be burden by you. You useless bad ominous thi—"

The door was finally opened, simultaneously the woman already kicked with great momentum, so without the door she stumbled inside and fell hard.

In the countryside, usually the flooring of houses are just ground that was flattened. But because Yun Tang's room was originally intended as a storage room; therefore, it wasn't flattened much and there are even some stones in it, so falling on it definitely hurts. Not to mention, falling with face first.

Everything happened quickly. So, Yun Tang didn't react until the woman on the ground groaned in pain. Realizing what happened just now, Yun Tang immediately went to help, but the woman slapped her hands away instead, not wanting her help.

"GO AWAY, YOU OMINOUS THING! Ugh!" the woman yelled at her while trying to stand up from the fall.

Seeing this, Yun Tang didn't insist anymore and just stood aside. Not knowing what to do.

Well, actually it's very interesting to watch her try to stand up.

"M-MOM? What's that sound? Did that b*tch do something to you?"

"Zhou De, what happened? Yung Tang, what happened to your mother?"

Hearing the footsteps and voices getting nearer from outside, Yung Tang's body reacted faster than her head. She immediately run out of the room through her window.

Before the woman can react and stop her, she already escape from the room while the woman was still on the ground, sitting because she can't still got up from the pain. Her old waist slammed hard on the ground earlier.

When the woman reacted, she can only shout and resort to threatening her stepdaughter.

"B*TCH! YOU COMEBACK HERE NOW! OR ELSE I'M GOING TO KICK YOU OUT OF MY HOUSE."

Meanwhile, Yun Tang who's already quite a distance from the house just keep running even after hearing those threats.

Calculating that she's already far from the house and that they can't catch up after her for a short time, Yun Tang stop. She's already running out of breath and her feet can't keep out now. This body is still weak from the fall that killed it's owner; hence, it's already a miracle that she can keep up for a long time.

Recovering and calming herself, Yun Tang immediately look around her surrounding. According to the original owner's memory, she's now on the edge of their Yun town and the border of another town, called the Jiang town.

On this border, there's a small stream. She felt quite thirsty, so she decided to go there.

According to her memory, the water from this small stream was from the back mountain and it have been used by two village as a water source since she can remember. Although many houses now have their own well, some poor family still get water here; therefore, they still keep it clean and only wash their laundry downstream.

She immediately reached the small stream and drank water. She also washed her face as she wasn't able to do it earlier. While washing her face, her stomach grumble, so she hasten her action.

To solve her stomach, she planned to look for wild fruits around the river.

In her delite, she found a wild berries but the amount is pitifully small and not enough to even cushion her stomach. So, Yun Tang continued to wander not knowing that she's already at the foot of the mountain and was heading further inside.

If it was the original owner, she would have already notice that she's going deeper inside and knows it's dangerous; hence, she would have stopped in her track and returned back.

Unfortunately, it was the other Yun Tang, who although she retained some of her memories and reflexes, but doesn't have the same precautions like the other especially when she's preoccupied in stuffing her tummy.

In addition, the mountains and forests in her time was not considered dangerous anymore although there are still few such as snakes, but because of the modernization and frequent tourist visitors, the animals began to hide and are seldom seen.

"There's actually so many wild berries and fruits here." she muttered while eating and picking with the other hand.

It really taste different from the one she got in the public market in her time. Those sellers cheated and scammed her by saying those wild berries and fruits they sell contained no fertilizer/conservatives. Bah! Bah! If those were 'natural' then what do you call these, spiritual fruits? Hmp.

Actually, it's not that those fruits were not 'natural' is that the times have changed and the soil is not the same after decades of exploitation; hence, the fruit that grows from those land will change slowly. Not to mention, not only is the soil polluted but the air and water as well so the result.

*Burp*

After filling her stomach, Yun Tang didn't stopped picking fruits but her picking speed slowdown. She thought that she might as well get some, so that she have something to eat at lunch because she knows that she can't go back home and even if she did, she won't have something to eat. So, might as well get some food here while she'll still here. Besides, it will also be a lost if these ripe wild berries and fruits got rotten because no one pick it.

She didn't bring any basket or container to put the berries, so she just improvised a simple basket made of coconut leaves she learned from her grandmother.

After picking enough, she immediately realized that she walked deeper than her expected, she no longer knows the way out.

"How to go back now?"

As mentioned, the original owner didn't once venture deep inside here, hence she didn't have memories of the geography here. Without a choice, she decided to find her way out and go avoid circling around she decided to put a mark by tying a coconut leaves in the tree's branches.

After doing this for 20 minutes, she still haven't find her way out and instead saw one of her mark again.

"Ahh! What to do now? I can't just keep circling here."

Realizing that she's really lost, Tangtang gritted her teeth and think of a solution frustratedly.

"Ah, yes, the river!"

Fortunately, she finally remembered that there's a river that runs from the mountains to the village. Hence, she decided to find the river instead of the way out first.

After another 10 minutes, she found that the soil she stepped on became more sandy. And in no time, she really heard a water flowing that made her sighed in relief

"God, finally! Fortunately, there's a river or else I'll never know when I can exit here." She muttered.

When she reached the river, she just look at it for a few minutes to admire then decided to follow it out.

On the way out, she heard a splashing sounds on the river in front which halted her steps. Hearing no voice she continued, but made sure her steps were quite. She immediately hide behind the tree when she's near the sound.

Peering from the where she is hiding, she saw who's making the splashing sounds.

"Omy!" she exclaimed in lower voice and immediately hide.

A male god!

"Who's there?" asked the person who's making the sound.

She covered her mouth to keep her silent and reprimanded herself a little for her carelessness and drooling for the stranger.

What to do now? She thought.

He's so hot though.

Stop! She pinched herself with her other hand.

"I said who's there?"

The person asked again loudly this time, but Yun Tang remained silent and silently thought about the scenery.

About what's she's going to do rather.

Meanwhile, the man became more vigilant and walk silently to where the sound came from earlier.

"If you don't show up, I will take it as you p—"

Before the man could finish speaking, Yun Tang finally run.

What else could she do?

She didn't know the man even though he looks h—not evil but who knows what he's capable of.

And the man even have the guts to say she's peeking at him???

I'm sorry but this young independent lady doesn't stoop that low yet.

When the man realized that the person was running away he immediately run after it. He also doesn't know why he run after it.

"Stop! Don't run away!" he yelled at the person as he catched up.

There's no way I'm going to stop! Tangtang thought hearing the man stopping and chasing her.

So, the scene became like that of a cat chasing a mouse after the former caught the latter stealing a cheese in the kitchen.

"Ahhrg!"

Only difference is that the mouse was cornered by the Cat, but Yun Tang was caught because she tripped herself.

"Hiss..Amp." She cussed in pain as she hissed simultaneously.

Why did she have to be tripped while running? What kind of luck is this? Why? Her ankle hurts like hell.

Looking at the culprit, it's a root of tree that is visible from the soil.

In no time, the man was able to catch up and was momentarily surprised to see her situation but he immediately recovered.

"Stop! Don't go closer! Hiss.." Yun Tang yelled at him when she heard the man's footsteps and the man really stopped in his track which made her thankful.

But at the same time make her resent the stranger. If he didn't chase her, she wouldn't run like crazy.

Sure, she run first but that doesn't mean she persuaded him to chase after her.

Anyway, it's not her fault. It's the man and this roots' fault.

"Hiss.." It fcking hurts! She could already imagine how it would swell later if she didn't treat it right away.

But where would she get the ointment? She didn't even know how to get out of her first. What's more where to get the ointment.

With her mind preoccupied, she didn't notice that the man walked closer to her, look at the foot then look elsewhere.

After cursing the man and the root multiple times, her mind was appease but the ankle still hurts. She also remembered the man behind her.

Unconsciously, she look behind her. But saw no one which made her mood that ease a little bad again.

Bad man, he just left her here. She just told him not to come closer and after a few minutes he already left.

'No conscience at all.' she cursed while gritting her teeth in annoyance.

But she immediately calm down and think of what to do. She thought of finding a stick to help her stand up.

"Got you!"

Fortunately, God is still on her side. She found a right stick, a tree branch as thick as three fingers that was just 2 meters away from her.

"What are you doing?"

Yun Tang was startled when she heard the man's voice who she thought already left and abandoned her.

She immediately sit up right from the posture of crawling to get the stick.

"T-that stick." she stammered and pointed to the stick.

The man immediately realized what she wanted to do, so he pick the stick and give it to her.

"Thanks!" she said to him and tried to use it to stand up.

"Don't stand up, let me check and treat your injury first." The man spoke to her which made her surprised and realized the reason for his disappearance earlier.

"O-okay! Thank you!" she said in shame because of her thoughts earlier.

Getting her consent, the man got closer to her and checked her ankle.

The man's hand touch her ankle and the warm temperature on it make her feet twitch a little.

She's not accustomed to someone's touch especially a man touching her foot. She's also seldom go to salon and have it manicure as she only does it herself.

She looks secretly at him and seeing he didn't notice made her sighed in relief.

Little did she know the man knows her every move from her peripheral vision.

Then, she look at himself or more precisely to his face.

A high bridge and pointed nose, phoenix eyes with double eye lids, strong straight eyebrows,

She once again came to one conclusion.

A handsome and high quality man. No doubt about that.

Even if this person was put in her time, she bet that he can make it to the entertainment with this face and figure alone.

Oh~lalala.

She was snapped to her senses when she feel a cold sensation on her ankle.

The man put a herbal on her ankle which he first hammered with a stone for the juice to flow out of the leaves then paste the leaves on the injured ankle.

He then tie it on the ankle a little loosely with vines and leaves acting as a bandage he found earlier.

The cold sensation really made the pain ease a little. So, Yung Tang thought that the man was good and have a little skill in this regard.

"Thank you!" she thanked him again and this time for treating her.

The man didn't look at her and just continue on securing the herbs on her ankle.

"Just be careful next time and don't peek at someone bathing!"

The man's reply made Tangtang speechless and angry.

"Y-you—".

What do you mean by peeking? Sure, I look at him because she was trying to figure out where the noise came from but it's not intentional. Besides, she didn't even saw it clearly. Well, a little.

".. I-I did not!" she said, denying it.

The man look at her with a look that says,'go on, I'll hear your explanation'.

With her reputation on the line and be called shameless woman, she told him her encounters and the reason for the supposed 'peeking'.

The man listened attentively, without interrupting her in between.

"So, basically I'm not peeking at you. It just an accident, okay!?" she told him with gritted teeth.

"I understand, you're not peeking." the man said but his eyes say otherwise.

Fine. Think what you think! She looks elsewhere.

"Come up!" the man speak after a few minutes.

She look at him confused, but saw the man squatting which his back at her which made her realized her intention. The man wants to give him a back ride.

"But I can—" he interrupted her.

"You obviously can't and if you insist, your ankle will swell tomorrow." seeing her still hesitating, he continue to persuade her.

"Besides, it' already noon and if you walk on your own, it'll takes a lot of time."

Seeing him saying a lot, Yun Tang finally 'admit defeat' and do as what he told.

This is the first after so many years that someone give her a piggy backride.

"Thanks!" she muttered.

The man didn't say anything and starts to walk out of the forest with her on his back.
