Prologue

"Where'd all the time go."

The Fishers had a beach house in cousins, where for what practically felt like forever, the Conklin family had been meeting up with them there every summer, and every summer always seemed to be greater then the last, where in the living room, a young Diana sat between her twin sister Belly and their older brother by a year Steven with her little mermaid doll in her hand, her other siblings played with their toys, while to the right of them was Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher playing with their trucks, where in front of them in the other living room sat their parents, where the dads decided to play a card game with the mom's, the mom's were mostly drinking their wine and watching all of them.

But the dad's were never really around really, the summer house was mostly just a place for the mom's and the kids, where that night they all were in their pajamas, as Diana, Belly and Susannah jumped on the couch, the boys along with Laurel were all having a pillow fight.

And when they got older, things didn't exactly become fair for the Conklin twin sisters, seeing as every time they arrived, Conrad, Jeremiah and Steven all came up with this fun game, where the word fun was more so toward's them seeing as for Belly and Diana it was the time where after a long car ride, they had to run for their lives and try not to get grabbed by one of them cause if they did, like how Conrad always managed to catch Diana, which she'd always kick her feet out and scream "no fair! You have longer legs!" she voiced, and Conrad always laughed "you've gotta be faster." he told her, and yet every year, he always caught her.

While Jeremiah and Steven would grab Belly, they all then carried them over to the pool and began swinging them in their arms over the edge where the water was "one, two, three." the boys voiced, as Jeremiah and Steven threw Belly in, Conrad would throw Diana in, where as the two sank to the bottom, they could always still hear the boys laughing over what they had done, as the two of them swam back up to the top.

But then Jeremiah would always come creeping up the stairs into Diana's room, begging her to come swimming with him down at the beach, where the two would get changed and come running downstairs, grabbing towels along the way as they'd head out the back door and ran down the path, leading from the path to the beach, and every time they made it, the two would stop and look at each other "three, two, one, go!" they voiced, running off to see who could get to the ocean faster, as they'd throw their towels and head down to the water.

And seeing as the beach was the one place the mom's felt safe enough leaving them all under the supervision with each other, this was when Diana started to learn to test her limits, seeing as Conrad was the oldest, he had told her time and time again that she wasn't allowed to go into the ocean by herself, claiming that she was so tiny that she would be swept under the current and that they would never find her again, where Diana always counteracted telling him that she was a mermaid, which would then be where he'd throw her over his shoulder and walk her back onto the sand.

But now she was a little older then that and she knew she wasn't a mermaid, as Jeremiah had ran into the ocean, all she wanted to do was follow him in, as she turned around, seeing Conrad trying to teach her sister how to throw a football to Steven, she turned back, feeling the waves crash onto her feet, she saw Jeremiah out there "come on!" he voiced, waving for her to come join him, and as he did, Conrad turned around seeing them "Diana!" he voiced, as Diana turned to him "no!" Conrad voiced, and as he did, Diana raised her brows and turned running into the ocean, diving underneath one of the waves, Conrad dropped the football and ran after her.

Where Diana had come back up next to Jeremiah "yeah!" Jeremiah voiced, holding his hand up, Diana high fived him, as the two were smiling, Conrad came up picking up both of them "no!" Diana voiced, as Conrad began walking the both of them back onto the beach.

Where late at night, Diana used to be a part of the movie nights with moms and Belly, but one night Jeremiah had asked her if she wanted to join him and the guys for the night, which Diana at first wasn't sure if he was serious or not waiting for some kind of prank to happen, where in a way it did, seeing as she walked into the kitchen as cup was handed to her and when she asked them what was in it, they wouldn't tell her and just told her to drink it and when she did, she grimaced, seeing as it was ketchup mixed with pickle juice, which was disgusting.

Where her face, made all of the guys laugh, where Steven told Jeremiah and Conrad that this was the reason she didn't hangout with them, in which Diana had then washed her glass in the sink and turned to them all, asking what's next, which surprised them, where Steven laughed and said he'd go next.

In which Diana, Jeremiah and Conrad then made a concoction of peanut butter, their's mom's incinerated bacon from this morning and mayonnaise, where the other person had to close their eyes before eating it so they wouldn't know what it was, and as the three stood there watching Steven eat it, he soon gagged as he opened his eyes, turning to the garbage and spitting it out, Jeremiah, Diana and Conrad started laughing.

Where from then on Conrad and Steven seemed just as accepting of her in their group as Jeremiah was, although Belly didn't exactly have the same luck but at times, they all hung out together like when they played a game of cards, but there was times where they'd still gang up on them, even though they were older, like when Laurel and Conrad were sitting at the table behind them, Diana was sitting at the kitchen island with Jeremiah the two of them eating cereal, as both always enjoying drinking the milk at the end.

Where as Susannah was walking in front of them, Steven came up behind Diana and pushed her face into the bowl, where Steven, Jeremiah and Conrad started laughing, Diana lifted her head up, having milk all over her face, Susannah handed her a paper towel, Diana took it as she wiped the milk off her face.

And at the end of every summer, their mom's always made sure to get a picture of them out on the dock, where Conrad was on the left, Belly was next to him, followed by Steven, Jeremiah and Diana was to the right of him, smiling harder then the rest of them.

And as they got older, Steven was on the far left with his arm around Conrad, as Conrad had his arm around him and Belly, Jeremiah stood next to them where Diana was once again to the right of him, with her head held high, trying to make up for the height difference seeing as everyone else was growing so much taller then her.

The next one, Steven stood next to Conrad with his arm around him, Conrad had his arms around him and Belly's shoulders, Belly stood next to him, where Jeremiah stood next to her, Diana then stood in front of Conrad and Belly, as they all smiled.

The next one was a much closer up picture, where Steven was on the left, Conrad stood next to him, as he held Diana in his arms so she could be seen on the camera, as Belly stood next to them, followed by Jeremiah, they all smiled.

The next one was farther away again, as Steven was on the left, Conrad was next to him followed by Belly, Diana and then Jeremiah, where they all had their arms around each other, smiling.

The next one, they were way older, as Jeremiah stood on the right, Diana stood next to him followed by Belly then Conrad and Steven, where now the boys not only towered both of them but Belly was even taller then Diana now, where Conrad put his hand in front of her face, Diana smacked his hand away, where Jeremiah then moved her closer to him, and threw up a peace sign and as he did, so did Diana.

Where in the next one, Steven stood all the way on the left, holding his hand hand up giving a hang ten, Conrad stood next to him in a hat as Diana was on his shoulders, Belly stood next to them, as Jeremiah was on the end giving the hand ten sign as well.
