By the afternoon, Nova's plan started working. Dora and Thor went to the Nidavellir, Bruce and Scott was working on time machine while Nova was getting ready for the practice of resurrection charm since Loki and Nova had agreed to let Nova learn the charm and then teach it to Loki.
That was why Nova was standing in the middle of the empty room in front of a dead rat. All of the free team members were behind the glass watching her since they were interested in seeing magic.
Nova repeated the words of charm under her breath and made a sign to team that meant she was ready. Nova sat down in front of the dead rat and hesitated before placing her hand on it.
"This is definitely disgusting. Couldn't you put any other animal?" Nova told to team through earpiece.
"Scott wanted to go with classics. 'Have you ever seen a dog being experimented? It is always rat.' he said." Peter informed while Clint glared at him for giving extra information.
"Then, tell Scott to come and touch dead rat." Nova said.
"Will you stop complaining?" Loki rolled his eyes.
"I will see how your royal highness will touch it." Nova narrowed her eyes.
"Why can't you ever be serious?" Rhodes asked.
"I can be serious. I am a serious person-" Loki protested.
"Shut up, for Odin's sake. I am trying to concentrate." Nova snapped through earpiece.
This, finally, made them stop talking much to Nova's pleasure. She closed her eyes and started telling spell. Her glowing power absorbed into the rat's corpse while she was still uttering spell. Her power was causing the corpse to glow as well and her power was increasing every second. Suddenly, the runes appeared in the air around them which caused the team's surprise.
Minutes later, the team saw through the glass that corpse wasn't glowing anymore and the runes were disappearing.
"She couldn't do it." Loki remarked.
"Why?" Bucky asked with a frown.
"She is capable of doing it, but there is something that is stoping her." Loki explained.
"What is it?" Wanda asked.
Loki just shrugged and looked at the other side of glass. The glow of Nova's power was gone. Nova opened her eyes and stood up once she got her breathing normal.
