Faith in Humanity"

Maria, a 95-year-old widow, lived alone in a small house. She had outlived her family and friends, and her neighbors rarely visited. One snowy evening, Maria's power went out, and she was left in the dark, cold, and frightened.

Just as she was starting to lose hope, she heard a knock on the door. It was a young boy, no more than 12 years old, holding a flashlight and a warm smile.

"Hi, Maria! My name is Max. I saw your lights were out and wanted to help. Can I come in and keep you company?"

Maria was taken aback by Max's kindness. He stayed with her for hours, telling stories, playing games, and keeping her warm until the power returned.

As the night ended, Maria asked Max why he had been so kind to her. Max replied, "My grandma lived alone like you, and I wish someone had been there for her like I was for you. You're not alone, Maria. We're all in this together."

Maria's eyes welled up with tears as she realized that there were still good people in the world. From that day on, Max visited Maria every week, bringing joy and companionship into her life.

This story shows that even in the darkest moments, kindness and compassion can restore our faith in humanity, one small act at a time.
