The next day, Ragini woke up early. She glanced around the room and saw Karanveer still sleeping. Checking the time, she noticed it was only 6 in the morning. Sleep eluded her, so she decided to start her day quietly to avoid disturbing him.
By 8 am, Karanveer began to stir. He opened his eyes to find a nurse administering his vitals and giving him an injection. The nurse left just as Ragini walked in.
"Good morning," she greeted cheerfully, her voice warm and bright. "How are you feeling today?"
Karanveer managed a small smile, "Good morning. I'm feeling a bit better"
she moved a bit closer to adjust his pillows for more comfort. "I thought you might like some coffee. I can get you some if you'd like."
"Coffee sounds good," he agreed, feeling a bit more at ease with her presence.
Ragini smiled and stepped out of the room briefly to arrange for his coffee. She returned with a steaming cup, carefully setting it on the table beside him.

Karanveer was finally discharged from the hospital. Mihir decided to stay back in Kerala to manage work, while Ragini, Karanveer, and Arjun prepared to leave for Mumbai. Throughout the flight, Ragini was a constant support for Karanveer. Despite traveling in business class, Karanveer still felt uncomfortable and in pain due to his injured ribs. This was the first time since the accident that he had been sitting for such an extended period.
At home in Mumbai, Anditha and Manvi were waiting anxiously. The moment they saw Karanveer's injured state, their eyes welled up with tears.
"Bhai, you look so hurt," Manvi exclaimed, her voice breaking and eyes shimmering with emotion.
Karanveer, trying to lighten the mood, offered a reassuring smile. "Hey, it's not as bad as it looks. I'm fine, really. Just need some rest and I'll be back to my old self in no time."
Manvi wiped a tear from her cheek. "It's just hard to see you like this."
Ragini, standing beside Karanveer, gently placed her hand on Anditha's shoulder. " We'll make sure he recovers quickly."
Despite the pain and discomfort, Karanveer felt a warmth from the care and attention he was receiving.
Later, as the evening drew on, Ragini prepared a light meal for everyone, ensuring Karanveer's dietary needs were met. Anditha and Manvi, though still emotional, were visibly relieved seeing him in front of their eyes.
After dinner, the family gathered in the hall, unwinding after the long day. Karanveer, feeling the weight of exhaustion from the journey, tried to stay awake but found his eyes drooping.
Dada Ji, noticing Karanveer's fatigue and discomfort, cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. "I've been thinking," he began, looking at Karanveer with concern, "Karanveer's room is on the first floor. With his injuries, it might be difficult for him to manage the stairs."
Karanveer frowned slightly. "Dada Ji, I'm fine. I can manage."
Dada Ji shook his head. "No, beta. You need rest and any unnecessary movement can delay your recovery. I think it's best if you temporarily shift to a room on the ground floor."
Karanveer opened his mouth to protest, but Dada Ji continued. "Besides, you'll need to use a wheelchair for a while, and moving it up and down the stairs will be difficult."
Ragini, seeing the logic in Dada Ji's words, nodded in agreement. "Dada Ji is right. We need to make sure you have easy access to everything you need."
Karanveer sighed, still feeling reluctant but seeing the determined look on Dada Ji's face and the supportive expressions from Ragini and the rest of the family, Karanveer finally relented. "Alright, if you all think it's best."
Arjun chimed in, "Don't worry, bhai. We'll have everything sorted out in no time."
They settled into the room, Karanveer resting on the bed while Ragini busied herself arranging the necessary things. The room had a warm, nostalgic feel for Karanveer, as it had been many years since he had stepped in.
Ragini's gaze drifted towards a glass door. Curious, she walked over and opened it. Karanveer's eyes followed her as she stepped through the door.
Ragini was surprised to find an attached balcony that looked like a mini glasshouse, complete with a small seating arrangement. Beyond that, a further door led to a private garden. She couldn't help herself from exploring further.
Karanveer watched her with a mixture of amusement and nostalgia. "This used to be my parents room and that glass house was my mother's favorite spot," he said softly, breaking the silence.
Ragini turned back to look at him, her eyes wide with interest. "It's beautiful. I can see why she loved it."
Karanveer smiled faintly. "She used to spend hours there, reading or just enjoying the garden. It's been a long time since anyone has really used it."
Ragini walked back into the room, her curiosity piqued. "We should make use of it again," she said, a hint of excitement in her voice. "It's such a peaceful spot."
Karanveer nodded, watching her finish arranging their things. As they settled to sleep, Ragini realized something was missing. Her expression shifted from normal to worry to anxious.
"What happened?" Karanveer asked, noticing her change in demeanor.
"There is no couch here," she spoke, her worry evident.
Karan looked around the room. "So?"
"Where will I sleep?" she asked, her anxiety growing.
Karanveer made a weird face. Ragini thought for a few minutes and then said, "I'll sleep in the glass house."
Karan quickly interjected, "No."
She looked at him with a questioning gaze.
"The glass house is attached to the garden, and the gardener comes in the morning. Even Dada Ji goes for a walk there. Earlier, this room was closed off, so was the glass house. And moreover, you'll feel cold there."
Ragini sighed. "So, where would I sleep?" she asked.
"Sleep on the bed," Karan suggested.
"What?" She was surprised at his suggestion.
"The bed is big enough for two people," he added.
"Ah, yes, but won't you feel uncomfortable?"
"Why" he asked
"Because you are injured."
Karanveer asked, slightly irritated by her reluctance, "So?"
Not getting any response, he felt more irritated. "Do as you wish then," he said, trying to close his eyes and sleep, but his irritation was visible on his face.
Ragini thought in her head that this was not the first time they were sharing a bed. They had shared one during the car learning mishap, but they had been sleeping in different corners of the room since then. Not knowing what to do, she freshened up and then walked towards the other side of the bed.
Karan was still awake, and sensing a dip on the bed, he smiled, knowing she was close to him.
