"Firefly..."
"You are that air I everwhen longed to breathe in, my heart forever famished for your love."
"But before I go, let me tell you, my angel, I love you with all my heart, body, and soul. I will never stop loving you even if I'm far away. You are my life, my world, and everything to me. Distance may keep us apart, You are the very essence of my existence."
My eyes squinted, burdened by an invisible weight on each lid. I parted my dry lips, preparing to inhale, but in a split second, I recoiled. The intense, almost suffocating odor of bleach assaulted my senses, overwhelming me.
A sense of powerlessness and heaviness engulfed me as I struggled to move, only to be met with a rising panic. I found myself unable to even lift my hand, turn my head, or shift my body. Gradually, the haze of disorientation cleared, allowing me to survey the area around me.
As I lay on the bed, a sense of unease washed over me, instantly signaling that I was far from the comfort of my own room, or worse,
My own house! My heart raced with panic as I surveyed the impeccably tidy yet eerily dim room, while a constant beep pierced through the air, intensifying my apprehension.
My eyes fell on the hand IV connected I followed the pipe rolled my eyes upward and noticed various monitors beeping over my head there was a mouth mask over my mouth and nose,
And it wasn't rocket science to figure out I was in hospital! panic surged through my numbed bones as my mind refused to answer,
How did I end up here? Nothing was clear to comprehend and there was a voice in my head that seemed to be whispering something, somehow soothing my agitated mind,
As I turned to my right, I noticed a person wearing blue pants and a T-shirt. My mouth was as dry as the desert, and when I tried to speak, I ended up coughing instead. The lady next to me was startled by the sound and gasped, "Goddess gracious!" She quickly came over to help.
"You're awake!" She loomed over me her brown eyes staring down at me, "Let me get the doctor..." She rushed but stopped seeing me struggle,
I tried to speak, but my words came out hoarse and cracked. She interrupted me, asking, "Sweetie, do you want something?" I nodded, "W... Water."
"Sure," she promptly raised my bed and positioned a glass of water near my lips. Without hesitation, I greedily opened my mouth and drank the water.
Once done she laid the bed down again, "I'll call the doctor!" She dashed out I drew a sigh closing my eyes once again I tried to remember, I think I shouldn't have tried.
In an instant, my eyes sprang wide open, and a jolt of fear shot through my body. My breath came in ragged gasps, matching the clearing fog that revealed horrifying memories of the night I was abducted from the cafe.
