CH 1- Mysterious Package Delivery + Vision

CH 1-

Nina and Fabian were both sitting on a couch in the living room doing their homework. Nina is working on science, while Fabian is working on french. " Nina?" a woman's voice shouted from the front hallway. " in here" Nina hallord  back. After a few short moments, Trudy walks in carrying a small vanilla shaped envelope. The kind where it is lined with bubble wrap on the inside. "I found this by the front door. Looks like it was hand delivered." Trudy said as she handed Nina her package. " hand delivered?" Fabian asked. " looks like it anyways. Do either of you know where joy is? I've got a package for her too '' Trudy asked. "I think she's out in town with jerome." Nina said as she held her envelope package on her lap, hesitating to open it. Not knowing what was inside, or who would have gone out of their way to hand deliver something. " okay. I'll just keep it in the front. See you two for dinner '' Trudy said as she then walked away.

" Are you okay?" Fabian asked as he couldn't help but notice Nina staring down at this mysterious package which she had now placed on her lap. "Uh, yeah. I'm fine. I'm just hesitant if I should open this or not. I mean it doesn't have a return address, or say who it's from." Nina said as she gently flipped the envelope from front to back, to show Fabian what she was talking about. "Maybe there's paper inside. Besides, what's the worst that could happen?" Fabian asked with a small chuckle, as he gently nudged Nina's arm to cue her in on the joke. But Nina didn't think it was that funny, but she did smile a bit to humor Fabian. Nina then took a deep breath, then opened her small envelope package. " Here goes nothing, right?" Nina said as she tried to brace herself for whatever she was about to find. Once Nina opened her package she put her hand inside and started to feel around. " Well, you were right. there is a paper inside, but I think I felt something else on the bottom," Nina said as she took out the piece of paper that was inside and handed it to Fabian, then went back in to ensure there was nothing else. "Is there anything else?" Fabian asked as he opened the folded piece of paper Nina just handed him. Moments later, Nina then tilted the envelope downward and kept her hand out towards the opening, then two rings came rolling out and landed in Nina's hands.

" rings?" Nina asked feeling a little confused. As she placed the now empty envelope beside her, and picked up one of the rings. " Does the paper it came with say anything about the rings? Or why were they sent to me?" Nina asked as she looked over at Fabian who was looking down at the piece of paper. " well, the note look to be handwritten. And it says. . . . 'These rings used to belong to Sarah's parents, but after their passing they went missing for quite some time. I am entrusting you the chosen one to keep these rings safe. Sarah would have wanted you to have them. One is meant for you, and the other is meant for the osirian. There is great history around these rings, use them wisely and with caution. - the collector'. . . ." Fabian said as he finished

"The collector?" Nina asked in confusion. "That's what it says" Fabian said as he then handed Nina the paper. After several moments, Nina puts the letter down, beside her where she had tucked the envelope. Then held out her hand, revealing the two rings that came with the letter. Fabian then picked up one ring while Nina took the other one. As they both examined the rings to the best of their ability, Fabian looked over at Nina for a moment, and noticed that she was about to put the ring on. Fabian, playing it safe, stopped Nina. "Aahh. What do you think you're doing? You can't just blindly put it on '' Fabian pointed out as he had Nina's wrist in his gentle grasp, stopping her from putting on the ring. " why not? It's just a ring." Nina asked, trying to persuade Fabian to let her try it on. " Well for starters we still don't know who sent you them, or who the collector is. And the letter did say if you had to use it, to use it wisely and with caution. For all we know, this ring could make you ill, disoriented, possessed" Fabian said as he started to list off what could go wrong. Nina then cut him off, by starting her side of the conversation. " ssshhh. okay, okay. I get it." Nina started off, as her method of calming Fabian down and to stop getting himself worked up. "Sarah would have wanted me to do this. Maybe wearing this ring will allow me to see her again. Imagine how much she could help. Maybe she will have some answers about this mysterious osirian I keep hearing about." Nina said as she gradually started to sound excited thinking of what good things could happen if she put on the ring. Fabian then fell silent. As he stared at Nina for a brief moment and slowly released Nina's wrist from his gentle grasp. " Okay fine. But if you start acting weird I'll take that ring off you immediately." Fabian warned as he watched Nina then take a deep breath then slowly put on the ring.
