A New Start and A New Face

The evening had just hit Crystal Cove and 2 new people had finally just finished unpacking in their new home. Alec and Ava Campbell are 2 siblings with a tight bond and a strong relationship. Their parents died in a car accident when they were young so Alec stepped up and took over raising Ava himself as she also encouraged him to follow his path of wanting to be a cop. He was also able to enroll her at Crystal Cove High School as he was offered a job with the police force. What they didn't realize though was that there was a lot more to this town than they were made aware of moving down.

The next morning which just so happened to be Monday, Ava was up and ready to go as she made her way down to breakfast. Alec prepared them both sausage and eggs as Ava made her coffee and they sat down. Alec looked at her smiling, "You ready for your first day?" Ava nodded, "Yeah, I'm a bit nervous though, new town and new place, hope things will work out." Alec smiled nodding then put something around her neck as she looked down at it, "Remember, you still have this with Mom and Dad in it." Ava looked down at it smiling, "I know, thanks, bro." Alec smiled as they looked at the time and realized it was time for her to go.

"You better get going or you'll be late, good luck today sis," Alec said smiling. Ava smiled back and nodded, "I know, I'll see you later, good luck to you today as well on the job." Alec thanked her as she then grabbed her backpack and headed out and she made her way to her Black Moped. She put her helmet on, started it up, and went on her way. She was almost there when she came upon a weird-looking blue and green van with orange flowers on its sides and the wheels. She giggled a little but thought it was unique but focused back on the road and made her way to school. Suddenly though, a piece of paper flew out of the van and she reached up and grabbed it.

She was gonna catch up and give it back but realized it was a picture. She decided to pull onto the side as she stopped and looked down at it. She saw it as a newspaper article about 4 kids and a parrot who supposedly disappeared but part of the paper was ripped off. She then fell into shock and said to herself, "Wait... isn't this that Mystery Incorporated group...? The group of teens and their mascot parrot who disappeared decades ago exploring the caverns that are near this town...?" She then put it in her pocket and continued on her way to school before she was late. She saw the same van when she pulled into the parking lot as a blonde-haired man, another guy, 2 girls, and a dog got out and walked their way to the school.

She recognized the blonde-haired guy seeing him in the rearview mirror on the driver's side. She was going to go over and give it back to them but before she could, the school bell rang. She took her helmet off and sighed, "Guess I'll have to give it back to them later at lunch." She made her way in as she went to the principal to get her schedule and made her way to her first class. As she entered, she saw the same group of people from the van she had seen earlier. She decided to just sit elsewhere and planned to give the photo back to them at lunch, she noticed they hadn't seemed to realize the photo was gone. She was then introduced as a new student as she made her way to her seat as the class went on.

When lunchtime hit, she made her way into the cafeteria and saw the same group of people and their dog sitting together at a corner table. She decided to just let them realize and would give it back once that happened. She sat the opposite way and pretended to be reading a book but secretly peeked over at them. She saw the brown-haired girl with glasses and bows taking out a book herself as she opened it and they all looked over at it too. They then gasped as the girl said, "Where did the article go?! I could have sworn it was in here!" The others gasped as well. Ava saw them react and decided to make her way over.

She then walked up to them from behind as she took the article out of her pocket. "Are you guys looking for this?" They turned around seeing Ava holding out the newspaper article. The girl smiled in relief, "Yes! Thank you so much!" Ava laughed, "Don't mention it, I caught it because I think it flew out of the van you guys were in." She handed it over as the girl took it sighing in relief. Ava smiled as she turned to walk off, "Well, I'll see you guys around, have a good day." The girl then suddenly stopped her, "Hey wait, what's your name?" She stopped and turned around, "Ava Campbell, I just recently moved here with my older brother."
