It starts at a phone repair shop, the owner named therese was chilling behind the counter waiting for customers who had their phone broken to approach their stand, 3 hours after opening, still no customers.
An old man started walking towards their stand with a phone in hand, he seems to be quite old with his physique.
"Hello, dito po ba yung pa-ayusan ng selpon?" the old man asked, with the tone of his voice you'd know that he is probably fit to become an elderly with discounts. Therese gave him a smile, "Opo tay, dito po. Magpapa ayos po kayo ng phone nyo?"
"Ahh oo, eto oh." Therese had her eyes widened because the phone that he showed was the latest iphone 14, she's not a judgmental person but based on the attire of the old man, an Iphone is definitely not what she's expecting, let alone an Iphone 14. "Tay, ang mahal naman po pala ng pinapa ayos nyo, pero sige ichecheck ko po."
The old man stifled a laugh, "Ahh sige sige, salamt neng ah." he smiled.
Couple of minutes of observation of the phone, it seems like the phone is at its full extent, no damage or anything. Lcd is good, camera lense is high, fps is at its peak. The phone also looked like its new. Therese looked at the man, "Tay, wala naman pong sira yung phone nyo, ano po bang nangyari?"
And upon hearing his answer, therese couldn't help but shed multiple tears.
"Ahh kasi ilang araw na akong tumatawag sa mga anak ko sa ibang bansa, palaging wala sumasagot eh. Kakabigay lang din yan sakin nung anak ko bago sya umalis, pitong buwan na ang lumipas, nagpatulong ako sa kumpare ko kung pano iyan buksan, at tsaka ilang buwan ko na silang tinatawagan parang wala kasi sumasagot, kaya akala ko nasira yung selpon. Pasensya ka na neng ha, tricycle driver kasi ako, wala akong alam sa mga ganitong bagay."
His children are successful and yet they refuse to give their father any credit on what they achieved. What's worse is that, they never even try, they just don't care anymore. And with the current knowledge of tatay, it's a heartbreaking moment, how would you think he could handle this information?
"Sige neng, salamat ah, mag papaturo nalang ulit ako sa kumpare ko." he said and grabbed his phone and gave her money, "ito yung naipon ko, alam ko mas mahal pa dyan yan eh kasi sabi mo mahal etong selpon na ito."
"Ay hindi na po tay, hindi ko din naman inayos, chineck ko lang if anong nangyari." she said wiping her tears.
"Bat ka naman napa iyak?"
"Wala ito tay, basta lagi mong tatandaan tay na hindi ka nag iisa, ha?"
The man laughed, "Ikaw talaga neng, nambobola ka. Sige na mauna na ako, salamat uli!" he said and left.
