Chapter thirteen

"We'll blow out the candles, happy birthday to us."

The next morning, Diana was dodging Belly and Taylor as she got dressed for the day, putting her hair up in two space buns, she was wearing shorts and a tank top, although as she walked downstairs, she didn't expect Jeremiah to be in there who seemed to have made his usual hangover remedy "I thought you'd still be asleep." she shared, as Jeremiah looked at her "Diana.." he told her, as Diana grabbed the box of lucky charms and dumped some of them in her mouth, Jeremiah chuckled "okay. Look Cam is an idiot for reacting to you kissing Taylor the way he did. But you also gotta realize, he doesn't drink, he doesn't exactly seem to enjoy having fun, and he doesn't eat meat and is way too into global warming. Meaning that a girl like you shouldn't be upset over a guy like him breaking up with you." he shared.

As Diana chuckled "thanks, but it's..it's not just him I.." she told him, grabbing the bowl and the cereal "I haven't talked to Belly since she not only walked in on me and Taylor, where all I wanted to do was find you and ask what I should do but then you were playing beer pong with Cam and all talking about how you liked him and then I realized I couldn't tell you anymore so then I just got really confused because this has never happened to me before.." she shared, grabbing the milk and pouring it into the bowl "and then Cam followed me and was asking me all these questions and then Belly found me and blurted out that I made out with Taylor which you saw what transpired after that. So now I'm not talking to her or Taylor because I feel really, really shitty for running away." she shared, shoving a spoon full of cereal into her mouth.

Jeremiah picked up his drink "when does she leave?" he asked her "I think her bus leaves in a couple of hours. I'm pretty sure she's packing up her stuff in Belly's room." Diana shared, as she furrowed her brows "can..can we leave? Like go on a muffin run or something? I just..I can't be here right now." she shared, as Jeremiah smiled at her "I'm always down for a muffin run. Uh, I'm gonna make us to go cups. Do you mind grabbing the keys from Conrad's room?" he asked her "depends is he decent?" Diana asked him "yes, seeing as he spent the night at Nicole's." Jeremiah shared, as he and Diana laughed.

Diana turned walking out of the kitchen and down the hallway, heading up the stairs, she turned to the right instead of the left, heading toward's Conrad's room, the door was open, as she furrowed her brows, walking in, she found Belly standing at his desk "Belly?" she asked her, as Belly jumped turnign and looking at her "Di..Diana, what are you doing in here?" she asked her "coming to get Conrad's keys. What are you.." Diana went to ask, as she shook her head "never mind. I don't care. Just.." she shared, walking forward, reaching into the open drawer and grabbing the keys, she turned walking out.

Having gotten into the jeep with Jeremiah, he was driving as Diana stared out the window of the passenger seat, where Jeremiah turned looking at her "you good?" he asked her, as Diana sighed, looking to him "this summer was supposed to be the best summer ever and from my track record so far, all I've done is get elbowed in the face, hit a girl in the head with a volleyball on purpose even though I claimed it was an accident, cheated on the one guy who actually liked me by making out with my girl best friend which was probably just a one time thing, and decided to join a deb ball believing I could show those rich girls that someone like me could be one too but every single moment of it, I've hated immensely. Does that sound good to you?" she asked, raising her brows.

"I think it makes you human compared to the robots who are those deb girls, who all they care about are their images, their clothes, how many people come to their party and just like you told me..my abs." Jeremiah shared, and as he did, Diana started laughing, and as she did, Jeremiah smiled at her, as he grabbed his phone, clicking play, Diana knew exactly what song it was a sshe looked to Jeremiah, noticing the smirk on his face.
