When you can't sleep.

You shift from side to side, finding it increasingly difficult to settle into sleep. The weight of the day's events seems to press down on you, making your mind restless. Earlier in the evening, you and Heeseung had watched a movie together, one of his favorites that he insisted you see. The film had been captivating, but now, as you lay in bed, your thoughts are consumed by the plot twists and character arcs, preventing you from finding peace.

As you turn back towards the left, the bed creaks slightly, prompting a groan from Heeseung beside you.

"Why's the bed moving so much?" he mutters sleepily, his voice muffled by the darkness of the room.

You shut your eyes tightly, pretending to be asleep, hoping he'll drift back into slumber without further disturbance. After a few moments, his breathing steadies, indicating that he's fallen back asleep.

You let out a sigh, feeling a sense of frustration wash over you. With a busy schedule looming for the next day, a restless night is the last thing you need.

"Can't sleep?" Heeseung's voice cuts through the silence, his tone laced with concern.

You turn towards him, meeting his gaze in the dim light of the room. "Not a wink," you confess, the exhaustion evident in your voice.

Heeseung reaches out, gently brushing a stray strand of hair from your face. "You want me to try that thing my mom used to do? Rubbing your temples to help you relax?"

You offer a weary smile, touched by his gesture. "That might help," you say, grateful for his willingness to ease your discomfort.

As Heeseung begins to massage your temples with gentle, circular motions, you feel the tension in your body start to melt away. The warmth of his touch soothes your frazzled nerves, and for the first time in hours, you start to feel yourself drifting towards sleep.

But as the minutes pass, it becomes clear that sleep is still out of reach. You let out a frustrated sigh, feeling the weight of exhaustion settling in your bones.

Heeseung shifts closer to you, wrapping his arms around you in a comforting embrace. "Hey," he murmurs softly, his breath warm against your ear. "It's okay. Sometimes sleep just doesn't come when we want it to."

You lean into his embrace, finding solace in the warmth of his presence. "I know," you reply, the weariness evident in your voice. "But I just can't seem to shut off my brain."

Heeseung nods understandingly, his hand coming up to gently stroke your back. "I get it," he says softly. "But maybe if you relax and stop thinking about it, sleep will come naturally."

You sigh, feeling a sense of defeat wash over you. "I'll try," you concede, though you're not entirely convinced it will work.

Heeseung smiles reassuringly, his hand coming up to brush a strand of hair from your face. "That's all I ask," he says softly, before settling back down beside you.

You close your eyes once more, trying to follow Heeseung's advice and let go of your worries. But despite your best efforts, sleep continues to elude you, leaving you feeling frustrated and exhausted.

Eventually, Heeseung's steady breathing beside you lulls you into a sense of calm, and you find yourself relaxing in his embrace. His warmth and presence offer a sense of comfort that you desperately need, and for a brief moment, you forget about your troubles as you sink deeper into his arms.

As the minutes tick by, you can feel yourself drifting closer to sleep, the weight of the day's events finally starting to lift from your shoulders. And as you finally succumb to the embrace of slumber, you can't help but feel grateful for Heeseung's unwavering support and understanding.
