They pulled up outside. They'd threatened for over a week now, but my worst nightmare had just came true...

"Come on Honey!" I shout up the stairs trying not to sound worried "We'll miss our flight if we don't go now!"

"Shit, shit, shit," I grunted under my breath as I paced quickly up and down the corridor contemplating what my next move was. A car door slams not far from our porch.I looked out the window, It was them; sweat dripped from my forehead.  It was time to tell Nicola so I ascended the stairs and entered the bedroom and perched next to where she was packing. Ava, our 6 month old little girl was playing on the floor oblivious to everything, I wish I was. Nic quickly realised I was crying and became rather nervous as I never cry, putting on and brave face and telling people I'm 'okay' is something I'm good at. Lying is another one of my expertise

"We don't have long, Nic..." I sobbed in hurried manor.

She inevitably replied with the predictable, confused, "What's going on?!" Foot steps were like the annoying little hand that ticks away on a clock - everyone counting down, but this time to death.

"They're going to kill us all, even Ava if they get the chance!" I said even faster. "They're animals, I've really fucked up this time haven't I!" As Nic had picked up a few details here and there was no questions, she only replied with a mouthful of spit and an angry, "Fuck You!" She then picked up our beautiful bundle of joy and ran.

The door caved in as a big, black boot smashed through it. Suddenly Nic stopped, she'd just seen him. There was gun fire, the bullet hit the window and the glass shattered and spread across the floor. Eventually I picked myself up and slowly went after her petrified for my life - well, I didn't really care about what happened to me, just her and Ava. There was more shots, it was too late. My world crashed down before me. There she was with Ava, laying on the floor, in a pool of their own blood. This was all my fault.

"Come here you dick, shoot me!" I shouted calling on gunman. He appeared from behind the living room door. We were face to face.

BANG!

All that was left was, well there was nothing, just darkness.
