Who became distant first?
16 - Crevan would tell you it was Andrew.
The day Andrew ran away was the day his world turned to shades of grey. He knew it was happening, he even helped out by cutting Andrew's hair and throwing his bag out the window for him. In a way, being involved in the escape made it that harder. Andrew promised to call, and in turn, Crevan waited by the phone.
Physical distance - being apart from each other.
15 - Andrew would tell you it was Crevan.
Andrew felt rejected when Crevan sharply told him not to touch him. Animal dynamics had never gotten in the way of their friendship before, but as the sharp tone of Crevan's voice rang through his ears, all he could hear was the screech of a fox - a warning sign to stay back. Andrew didn't understand. They would always hug, why was it different now?
Defensive distance - pulling back from someone you care about.
14 - Crevan would tell you it was Andrew.
"My mum said I shouldn't hang out with you as often." Andrew confessed, standing on the swings outside of their block of flats.
"Why not?" Crevan looked up at Andrew, seated on the swing and looking in a confused manner. "Did I upset you?"
"No..! It's just, she says... well..." Andrew averted his gaze from Crevan. "She says you're not a good influence on me. She says she doesn't trust you, that you spend too much time with untrustworthy people."
Crevan's eyes widened, before he looked down at the concrete floor, ashamed.Forced distance - an external force pulling two people apart.
13 - Andrew would tell you it was Crevan.
Andrew finished pitching the tent him and Crevan would sleep in for the night, standing back to marvel at his work.
"Crevan! I'm done!" He looked around - Crevan was nowhere to be seen.
"Crevan?" Andrew picked up his bag and slung it over his shoulder, looking around the surrounding clearing. They'd picked a camping spot further out than the other scouts - not an uncommon thing for them to do. However, they always promised to stick by each other.
"Crevan... this isn't funny." He walked further into the forest, looking in usual hiding spots. In the distance, he could hear talking. Crevan - the accent was undeniable. Hoping to scare him, Andrew tread carefully, hiding behind the trees as he peered out into the clearing. What he saw made his eyes widen, his body going stiff for a second before his brain told him to run away. He quickly dashed back to their tent, dropping his bag on the way.
24 - neither could really tell you who drifted first, They still haven't agreed on that. However, they are reunited again now. No more distance.
