Kara pushed open the door to Lena's bistro, the familiar scent of food and coffee welcoming her. She scanned the place, spotting Lena working in her favourite spot.

Lena looked up from behind the bar, a warm smile lighting up her face at the sight of her girlfriend, waving her over.

"Hi gorgeous." Kara sat down on a vacant stool, Lena offering her a lemonade since she doesn't like drinking until she's finished work for the day. "Thank you."

"You're welcome baby. How was your morning?" Lena reached across and took Kara's hand in her own.

"It was... okay. I had a chat with Andrea about this morning." Kara sipped her drink.

"And how'd that go?" Lena let her hand go to tend to one of her patrons then came back.

"It was good. Andrea noticed that I was distracted and wanted to make sure everything was alright."

Lena listened intently, concern flickering in her eyes. "And is everything alright?"

Kara scrunched her nose, turning her glass in her hands. "Yeah... sort of? There's actually something I want to talk to you about. Is there somewhere private we can go?"

Lena wiped her hands on the cloth she had on her shoulder and informed her staff that she would be taking her lunch break for an hour. "Yeah, sure." She walked around the bar and took Kara's hand, deciding to go for a walk to get out into the fresh air then into a small and quiet café that was just down the street.

Kara ordered them some food and a couple of coffee's, pulling Lena to sit at a table near the back and sat opposite her. She reached across the table to take Lena's hands into her own. "How are you feeling about all this?"

Lena looked down and played with Kara's fingers. "Imra's visit this morning... it got me thinking. I trust you, Kara, but the idea of her wanting you back... it makes me feel... insecure, I guess, like you won't want to be with me and maybe jealous. I would understand if you wanted to go back to her. You both have six years of history together and we are still new."

"Lena, you don't need to feel that way. Yes Imra's sudden appearance is somewhat strange as hell but I choose you. I want to be with you. Her showing up doesn't change anything between us."

Lena ducked her head in embarrassment. "I'm sorry. I didn't feel this way until I left and got to work and then it suddenly crept up on me." She looked up to see Kara looking back at her. "I feel stupid for even thinking that."

Kara went to cup her cheek but their food arrived and was placed on the table. "Lena, you are not stupid and you have every right to feel that way but hear me when I say this, I don't want anyone else but you."

Lena gave Kara a smile. "And I want you too." She leaned across and planted a kiss to her lips. "Thank you for listening."

"You're welcome. You can come and talk to me about anything." Kara smiled and bit into her chicken burrito but she could still see the anxiousness in Lena's eyes.

Lena bit into her sandwich as they ate in content silence, occasionally reaching across to link her fingers with Kara's, feeling lighter than she did earlier.

"Can I ask you something?" Kara stacked their plates on top of each other along with their mugs.

"Sure. Anything." Lena nodded.

"How would you feel about coming with me to get some answers from Imra?" Kara asked, her gaze steady as she looked into Lena's eyes.

Lena's brow furrowed slightly, her expression thoughtful. "You want me to come with you? To talk to Imra?"

"I know it's a lot to ask, but I want you to feel secure in our relationship. And if that means facing Imra together, then I think it might help."

A mix of emotions flickered across Lena's face before she finally smiled, a soft, genuine smile that reached her eyes. "I'd like that, Kara. I'd like to be there with you and to support you."

"Good." Kara stood and held her hand out for Lena to take."Are you feeling alright now?"

"I am. You're amazing. You know that right." Lena wrapped her arms around Kara as they walked back to the bistro.

"I do but you Lena Luthor are the amazing one." Kara turned and pecked Lena's head as they came up to the bistro entrance. "I'm glad I can spend my lunch hours with you and I'm glad we could have a talk. I have to get back to work but I'll swing by after and pick you up?"

Lena reached up and looped her arms around Kara's shoulders. "I love spending my lunches with you too darling." She pulled Kara down and into a sweet kiss before parting their lips. "See you tonight." She wiped a smudge of lipstick from Kara's lips and let go so she could leave.

"Bye baby." Kara waved as she crossed the road to her car and got in, driving back to CatCo.

Kara pulled out her phone and scrolled to the only number she still had in her contacts for Imra, hoping that she still had the same one. She sat there for a moment and with a deep breath, she pushed call and pressed the phone to her ear.
