SCENE 1:
AVARIS 1309 B.C. (?)

The city of Avaris, covered in the darkness of night, is suddenly assaulted by Egyptian soldiers. They break into the houses of the Hebrew slaves, take their firstborn sons, and throw them into the Nile. The whole city is filled with shrieking and weeping.

Up from above watches Amun and Horus, forms demonic and hateful. Osiris joins them. In his hands, he holds the shaded form of an infant's corpse.

OSIRIS: Your will is done, Great Lord Amun.

Amun grins, fangs protruding. He takes the corpse by the head, as blood drips down its body, and sinks his teeth into it. His irises dilate with pleasure.

HORUS: That Horemheb is quite an obedient pharaoh.

Of course, they always obey us one way or another, but he makes it as bloody as I like to see.

We were wise to use him as our replacement for his filthy predecessor.

AMUN: Just look at the people of this god. They think this... "Shaddai" cares for them?

As the sweet blood of their firstborn sons are my sacrifices. (GRAMMAR?)

(The gods grin)

HORUS: Has any of us even seen that god within the last 400 years?

AMUN: Not since that day. (Scoffs, a slight look of disdain in his eye)

OSIRIS: What day?

AMUN: Since the last time Our Father spoke to us.

Amun looks into the distance, as if remembering.

(An image is conjured. On the summit of the Heavenly Mount Zion sits 70 Elders. Among them, we see the various gods of the nations, including a shaded Moloch, bull-horned and covered in darkness.

ELYON: Ask of Me... and I will give the nations as Your inheritance.

A glowing Yahweh/Shaddai ascends the mountain in the presence of the divine council. We focus upon the eyes of Amun, filled with jealousy and hate.)

As he walks away, leaving Osiris unanswered, we zoom out. From this perspective, we see the Nile River carrying a basket into the pool of Ramesses' daughter. She picks the infant out of the water

BITHIAH: ...Am-shê...
