Chapter 15 - Forbidden love

The walls, started to close in on me, as cries of help, screamed out. Blood dripped down ridley's angelic face, as her tortures beat her. Lissa lay there, hardly moving at all. Her eyes kept fluttering open, staring me down, with a mix of anger and sadness. Mason, didn't move at all. His body was twisted at all different angles. The reason, we were in this situation was because of me. I had failed them all, unable to protect from my enemy. The blue hooded man smirked and laughed. He threatened me he would break me down, and hurt my loved ones. The thing I failed to realise is that it was a promise. 

Around the corner Dimtri was there, beaten up badly, his face swollen up. The look he gave me was of pure hatred. He absolutely despised me, and it hurt so much. 

In fact, I hurt all over. I felt mentally drained, and dizzy. That was probably due to all the blood, the strigoi had drank from me. My whole body was smeared with blood, and at the back of my mind, I knew this was the end. I wasn't scared of death, only that my friends would have to face it too. They were all to young to leave yet. I wish, that I could take the pain away from them. I had desperately tried to do the right thing, but my past had finally caught up with me. My only regret was that I was dragging everyone down with me. Why did they have to suffer?

The blue hooded man, then dropped his hood. I gasped in shock. How could I have been so stupid?  He was always there. I heard other gasps of shock, as they realised who it was. He then walked forward, a blade in his hand, and with one thurst ....

I awoke screaming like a manic, I couldn't breathe at all. I desperately breathed in air, to soothe my burning throat. 

"It's okay, it was only a dream" Lissa cooed, giving me a hug. 

But, it felt so real. I thought they were dying. A sense of relief washed over me, they were safe, for now. 

I quickly jumped out of bed, and combed my hair. After that, I took a shower and put on some leggings and a jumper, because it was quite cold. 

Today was, the winter wonderland ball, every student was invited, royal or not, and it was a good time to party, and get very drunk. Naturally, the only reason I was attending was too keep,  a close eye on Lissa. The only problem was I had no one to go with, sure loads of guys had asked me, but I couldn't help but compare them with Dimtri. I would of just stayed with lissa, however she is going with Christian, and I don't want to ruin it. Maybe, I could go with Eddie, as friends though, of course. Eddie, is more like a big brother to me. 

"So what are you wearing tonight" Lissa asked, bringing me from my thoughts

"I'm not too sure yet, what about you" I replied

Lissa then showed off her dress. It was beautiful. It was a pale pink colour, which when lissa wore it would drape the floor. At the back were carefully placed roses, each one the same size, they went from her back, to just below the knee. The front, was carefully stitched with golden ribbon, and a larger rose, sat in the middle. This dress, made the rest of the moroi look like tramps. She then held up some ballerina type shoes, which were made out of silk. The whole outfit really suit her. Any guy, would want to dance with her tonight. 

"Do,  you like it" she questioned

"I think it's gorgeous" I said back

Lissa, then gave a excited squeal, and then said

"Come on, let's find you a dress, and then at 3 o'clock,  we have got a hair appointment."

Grinning like a weirdo, we both walked out, determined to find me a perfect dress. 

...

"What about this one " Lissa asked, holding up a green coral dress.

It was pretty, but it just wasn't me. We had been at this dress shop for over a hour, and still hadn't found anything.
