WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT if a god came to you and said you had the chance to fix everything you wanted? No, right? You'd probably be freaking out about the fact that god actually exists in the first place. That's how it is for most mortals. Demigods though? We deal with the scraps of their issues on a daily basis — going on quests to fix what they caused, fighting all of their wars, battling monsters, giving our lives for them.
EVEN THE YOUNGEST HALF-BLOODS know not to count on the Olympians. Even if Gods swear on the Styx, they can't be trusted ( re: the existences of Percy, Thalia, and Nico ). It's a lesson we learn pretty early on, even if we aren't children of the major twelve. It's a lesson I never took to heart until it was far too late. It's not that I trusted them before, I just had a certain amount of... Respect? Or was it faith? I didn't trust them, but I had hope they actually cared about their own children, at least. That hope is gone now, and they wont ever earn my trust again, but... In exchange for being able to fix every mistake you ever wanted, a quest is a small price to pay, isn't it?
REGRETS ARE SUPPOSED TO stay in the past, and people say that not moving on is unhealthy. All mortals, demigods and humans alike, would drive themselves insane from the intensity of their regrets if they didn't learn to let go. But that's just because they have no other options. If rewriting history was something anyone could do with the snap of a finger, we'd be turning back time left and right, and there's no need to act noble about admitting you would do it, too.
I'M NOT GOING INSANE. I'm not dreaming of a reality that will never exist, I've actually been given the chance to go back, and fix things, and I would be crazy not to take it. You'd do the same if you were in my shoes, I know you would. After all, aren't you here, reading this to feel like you're a part of something bigger than yourself? To feel like a hero?

QOTD — how do you think Priyal's name is pronounced?
author's note ☆ hi everyone! this is possibly the most excited i've been for a fic in years omg. be warned that most of this story will be following an original plot, so not much from the actual book series, whether the first or second will be included. it might merge at points! but yeah, if you're hoping for something that follows the storyline exactly this is not the fic for you. i hope you like the concept! if you don't pls dont tell me this is my baby i dont want to hear criticism 😭. also refrain from plagiarising, considering this is almost like an original, it took a lot of effort to think of and work on this. ty for your time! <3 esme; butterfiygarden.

RETROGRADE - luke castellan.
FanfictionWhat makes someone a hero? There was only one difference between Percy Jackson and Luke Castellan - and that was luck. Percy was a child of the big three, Luke was not. Percy was protected by his father, Luke was not. All of Percy's prophecies were...
