The comforting atmosphere doesn't last long as Vox slams the door open making me jump. He's so fueled on rage he barely processes me in the room.

I can tell he's in a rage about something. I look up at him, trying to gauge what's going on. My mind then drifts to Alastor's radio tower and I sigh. I should have realized he'd be one of the first people to notice.

"Judging from your pissed off rage, I'm guessing you've heard the news?" I ask nonchalantly, still petting Vark on my lap.

Even after hearing my voice nothing helps calm him down. "That fuckers back and he has the nerve to mess with me." He says as his temper grows.

I can feel the anger radiating off of him like heat. I try to remain cool and collected, keeping my voice steady. "Maybe you should just let it slide, Vox. It's not worth getting riled up about."

His eyes widen as he whips his face towards my own. "Let it slide? Are you fucking delusional?" I flinch as his sharp tone cuts through the air. "No, I'm just saying, getting worked up and letting him get under your skin isn't going to help anything. He's just trying to rile you up, and you're falling for it."

He huffs out angrily, clearly not in the mood to hear any form of reason. He begins to pace around the room in a fit of rage, the air between us growing increasingly charged with his hostility. "Vox..." I say in a low whisper as my voice becomes more smooth and alluring.

As soon as his name leaves my lips I see his whole body relax due to the use of my powers. I watch curiously as his body visibly relaxes, his shoulders dropping slightly and his pacing coming to a halt.

The anger fades from his expression, replaced by a sort of docile trance as the alluring quality of my voice takes effect. He sighs as he turns away from his monitors to look at me. "I thought we agreed we wouldn't use our powers on each other doll?"

I give him an innocent smile. "Couldn't think of any other way to calm you down. Well, I guess I could have kissed you but then that could be a debate on if I was using my powers as well."

He lets out a frustrated groan, clearly annoyed with my actions. But I can see the corners of his mouth twitching slightly, a hint of amusement there. "Fine," he mutters with a huff. "You got me. But we really shouldn't use our powers on each other. We agreed on that."

I give him a little salute. "Heard loud and clear captain." He rolls his eyes but can't help a small smile from forming. He takes a seat beside me on the floor, his gaze going to Vark.

"I see you've been hanging out with Vark in my absence. Surprised he hasn't taken a bite out of you yet." He chuckles a bit, reaching over to pet Vark as well.

I gasp dramatically. "Vark loves me too much to give me a second death." He laughs lightly at my reaction, shaking his head. "Right, how could I forget. He's completely obsessed with you." His hand moves up Vark's body, scratching underneath his chin.

I lean into Vox's side as he continues to pet Vark. "Don't let Alastor get under your skin so much. It will just make the whole situation worse, you know that." I murmur.

He lets out a low grumble at my words, but a small hum of acknowledgment leaves his lips. He knows that I'm right, no matter how much he hates to admit it.

"It's hard not to let him get under my skin, doll. I hate that pompous, egotistical prick. He thinks he's so much better than everyone else." I chuckle at his words as I debate if I should say what I'm thinking and decide what the hell. "You two are more similar than you want to admit."

His mouth opens to protest, but he stops himself, taking a moment to think over my words. A groan leaves his lips as he realizes the truth in them. He'd never admit it, but he knows that there is some similarity between the two. "Never say that again." He retorts.
