☘︎ ݁˖The Gates of Justice☘︎ ݁˖

---

As the ragtag crew of Impel Down escapees approached the massive Gates of Justice, hope was dwindling. Surrounded by the threat of Marine ships, their chances of escape seemed slim. Luffy, Jinbei, Ivankov, Crocodile, and the others looked to the imposing gates with desperate anticipation.

"Please open," Luffy murmured, eyes fixed on the iron barrier.

Miraculously, the gates began to creak open. Cheers erupted from the crew, relief washing over them like a wave. Luffy's heart soared, but as the gates parted, he realized Bon Clay wasn't with them.

"Bon-chan? Bon-chan, are you here?" Luffy called out, searching the ship.

Ivankov approached, her expression somber. "Luffy-boy, Bon boy stayed behind to open the gate for us."

Luffy's heart sank. "No... Bon-chan..."

Jinbei handed him a Den Den Mushi. "You can still talk to him, Luffy. The connection will hold until we leave the gates."

Desperately, Luffy grabbed the snail phone. "Bon-chan! Bon-chan, can you hear me?"

Silence hung heavy before Bon Clay's voice, choked with emotion, came through. "Go save your brother, Luffy."

Tears welled up in Luffy's eyes as the connection crackled and faded. Even the hardened criminals around him felt the weight of Bon Clay's sacrifice.

With Impel Down behind them, Luffy sat on the front sail, lost in thought. Jinbei steered the ship towards Marineford, while Crocodile watched Luffy from a distance. He wanted to speak to the young pirate, but Ivankov intercepted him.

"Do you need something from Luffy-boy?" she asked, her voice laced with a subtle threat.

Crocodile shook his head and stepped back. Meanwhile, a man named Mike, another escaped prisoner , he can help people who is feeling down at any rate, approached Luffy.

"Luffy, can we talk privately?" Mike asked.

They moved to a quiet corner of the ship. Buggy and Crocodile, pretending not to know each other, eavesdropped on their conversation.

"I'm Mike," the man introduced himself. "I ate the Dragon-Dragon Fruit."

Luffy's eyes widened. "You can turn into a dragon?"

Mike laughed. "Not exactly. I have the power of a dragon, but I can't become one."

They talked for a while, sharing their stories. Luffy spoke of Ace and Sabo, his voice filled with both hope and sorrow. Mike, in turn, shared his own tale of loss and redemption.

"If I die," Mike said suddenly, his tone serious, "remember that it's not a bad way to go. I've fulfilled my wish."

"Don't say that!" Luffy protested, but Mike just smiled.

"I have no one else," Mike continued. "But if I do die, maybe my Devil Fruit will respond to your brother. Maybe it'll help him somehow."

Luffy's determination hardened. "I won't let you die, Mike."
