Elena x Klaus: The Miracle

Prolouge

"Elena!" Caroline yells Elena's name after entering her house, "Where are you? You ran out of class and we couldn't find you. Are you okay?"

"I'm upstairs! I'll be down in a minute." Elena says, Caroline uses her vampire hearing and hears Elena throwing up in the toilet upstairs. Caroline sped upstairs to help her.

"Oh my God, are you sick?" Caroline asked.

Elena wipes her mouth, "Vampires don't get sick, Care. It's impossible."

"Then why are you throwing up?" Caroline asks, crouching down to be at Elena's height.

"I'm not sure. My stomach's been feeling like this for a few days since last week." Elena says leaning her head back on the wall and closes her eyes.

Caroline puts her hands against Elena's forehead, "You don't have a fever."

"What do you think it could be?" Elena asked.

"Well you're definitely not pregnant. Vampires cannot procreate. It's impossible. So that idea we could rule out." Caroline said.

Elena thinks for a moment. The only person she's slept with was Damon. But Damon was a vampire too. So he can't procreate. But...Elena is a Petrova doppelgänger. And, as far as she knows her family bloodline's history, each Petrova doppelgänger had a baby.

"It might be." Elena said.

"Elena, it's not." Caroline reassured her.

"No, Care, every Petrova doppelgänger before me had a baby. Katherine had on, and I'm pretty sure Tatia did too." Elena said.

"So, what? You think it's some stupid, long family curse that's been placed on you?" Caroline crossed her arms over her chest.

"Maybe." Elena said.

"I guess it's possible then. Do you want me to call Bonnie and have her confirm it?" Caroline asked.

"Yes. Please." Elena said.

"Alright." Caroline says and pulls out her phone and calls Bonnie. Caroline explains the situation to Bonnie and Bonnie says she'll be on her way.

"Elena? Caroline?" Bonnie's voice fills the downstairs part of the house.

"We're up here!" Caroline called down.

Bonnie entered Elena's room, "Hey, 'Lena. How are you feeling?"

"Exhausted." Elena said.

"I've found a spell that could be helpful to confirm. Are you sure you want to do this?" Bonnie asked.

Elena nods,"Yes, Bonnie. I need to know."

"Okay. I'll need some of your blood then." Bonnie said.

Elena pricks her finger with a small knife and droplets of blood fall into a small, brown, wooden bowl that Bonnie brought in order to do the spell. Bonnie begins the spell. A gust of wind flows past them and the candles around the vampire, doppelgänger and witch get brighter.

"Elena is pregnant," Bonnie says, Elena and Caroline both smile, "But," Bonnie continues, "It's not Damon's."

"Well who else has she slept with?" Caroline asks, "Oh my God! Did you finally get back together with Stefan like I've been telling you too?!"

"What? No, Caroline. I've been with Damon for the last couple of months." Elena says defending her relationship with her boyfriend.

"Then who did you sleep with?" Caroline asked.

"She didn't sleep with anybody. The baby was magically placed into her womb by another witch." Bonnie explained.

"Can you tell who the father is?" Elena asked.
