Suman's POV:

"Madhuuuuu!" I sang, skipping into the house while leaving the door open for Tina, who was busy tapping away on her phone.

"Oh, look who's back! I thought you had an interview today, but it seems like you both went off for a picnic instead," Madhu teased, folding her arms with a mock-serious look on her face.

"Come on, Madhu..." I whined softly, glancing at Tina, who raised an eyebrow as if daring me to explain. I smirked. "I took her on a date," I teased.

"What? A date? And the interview?" Madhu huffed, sitting down on the couch with mock worry etched across her face.

I couldn't help but laugh. "Relax, Madhu! The interview went great. We even celebrated our success with a small eating competition." I threw Tina a playful look, to which she dramatically bowed, thanking her imaginary audience.

"Obviously, I won," she quipped.

"Yeah, yeah," I muttered, rolling my eyes.

After Tina left, I retreated to my room, took a warm shower, and let myself relax. But as I lay in bed, my thoughts kept circling back to tomorrow-my first day at The Singhania Corporation. And him.

Yuvan Singhania.

Even now, his piercing gaze and commanding presence lingered in my mind. I was nervous. Would I manage to stay composed in his presence? Or would I make a fool of myself again?

"Nothing will happen," I whispered to myself, trying to shake off my anxiety.
______

A soft breeze carried the scent of roses as a girl in a blue frock skipped through a park, clutching a delicate flower close to her heart. Her footsteps faltered as she entered the hospital. Her wide, teary eyes found the familiar figure on the hospital bed. "Mama!" she whispered, her voice trembling. The machines beeped louder, the sound growing deafening until everything fell silent.

"Maa!"

I shot up in bed, my heart racing, beads of sweat dotting my forehead. It was just a nightmare, but the heaviness in my chest lingered. Grabbing the water bottle from my side table, I gulped down a few sips to calm myself. As my breathing steadied, my eyes landed on the clock.

Oh no.

I was running late.

By some miracle, I managed to get ready on time and rushed downstairs. "Madhu, I'm leaving! Take care!" I called out, quickly kissing her cheek before hurrying out.
