INT. CARLTON HOUSE - DAY
David is at his parent's house, waiting for Rafael and the gang to join him before heading off to Hawaii for their honeymoon.
David: (on the phone) Can't wait for you guys to get here. I'll be going too, see you there love.
Rafael: (smiling) We're on our way, love. See you soon.
INT. TUNNEL - AFTERNOON
The guys-Leonard, Sheldon, Howard, Raj, and Rafael-are driving to the airport to send him off. They decide to take a shortcut through an underground tunnel when suddenly, the ground begins to shake violently.
Howard: (panicking) Earthquake!
Raj: (screaming) We're going to die!
Sheldon: (calmly) Statistically, the probability of death is quite low, but the structural integrity of this tunnel concerns me.
Leonard: (trying to drive through) Hold on!
INT. TUNNEL - 15 MINUTES LATER
The car is stuck. Debris has blocked both exits, trapping them inside the tunnel.
Leonard: (sighing) We're stuck. Let's try to stay calm.
Howard: (nervously) Easy for you to say. I don't want to be buried alive!
Raj: (desperately) I knew I should've stayed in India.
Sheldon: (stoically) This is an excellent opportunity to study the effects of stress on the human psyche in confined spaces.
Howard: (sarcastically) Oh great, another one of Sheldon's experiments.
Rafael: (trying to lighten the mood) Well, at least we're not in a lava tube. That would be a hot mess.
INT. APARTMENT 4A - EVENING
The girls -Penny, Bernadette, and Amy-are worried. They haven't heard from the guys in hours. David joined them as he couldn't reach Rafael since the earthquake and had to reschedule their flight.
Penny: (pacing) It's been too long. I'm calling the police. I don't know what happened since the earthquake.
Bernadette: (concerned) What if something happened to them?
Amy: (calmly) Let's not panic. They're smart. They'll find a way out.
David: I hope they're not in any serious manner.
INT. TUNNEL - NIGHT
The guys are sitting in the car, trying to stay warm. They start to joke to keep their spirits up. Sheldon eats Rafael's snacks he brought for his supposed flight to cope with the situation.
Howard: (grinning) You know, if we die here, at least I won't have to listen to Bernadette's lectures about leaving my socks everywhere.
Raj: (laughing) And I won't have to explain to my parents why I'm still single.
Leonard: (chuckling) And Sheldon won't have to worry about people touching his food.
Sheldon: (munching) That is a silver lining. However, I'd prefer not to die in a tunnel with subpar ventilation.
Leonard: (grabs the chips), Quit eating the foods, we need this to survive.
Rafael: (laughing) You guys, we're not dying. Just stuck. But if we were, at least we're together.
The girls manage to get a call through to the guys.
Penny: (worried) Leonard! Are you okay?
Leonard: (sighing) We're fine, just trapped in the tunnel after the earthquake happened.
Bernadette: (sternly) Howard, you better not be doing something stupid.
Howard: (jokingly) Too late for that.
Amy: (concerned) Sheldon, are you alright?
Sheldon: (ate a whole twinkie) I am well, considering the circumstances. However, I have taken this opportunity to calculate the probability of tunnel collapse. It's surprisingly low.
INT. TUNNEL - LATER
The guys start giving their final words, as if they're dying.
Leonard: (dramatically) Penny, I love you. I'll miss your cheesecake factory uniform.
Howard: (pretending to cry) Bernadette, I'm sorry for all the times I didn't listen.
Raj: (tearfully) Cinnamon, you're the best dog I've ever had.
Rafael: (sighing) David, I'm sorry I couldn't make it to Hawaii. We'll have to honeymoon in this tunnel.
Sheldon: (seriously and ate a cookie) Amy, if I don't make it out, I leave you my entire comic book collection.
The girls roll their eyes at the melodrama.
Penny: (sternly) You guys are going to be fine. Just sit tight. We just called 911, they'll be on their way.
INT. TUNNEL - MORNING
After 12 hours, rescue workers finally break through the debris and free the guys.
Rescue Worker: (smiling) You're all safe now.
Leonard: Sunlight, Oh my God.
Howard: Thank God, we can't be cannabilized by Sheldon.
Sheldon: The probability of you being a sustenance is the same as the probability I have to create a black hole which is 0.00001%.
The guys rush out, relieved and exhausted.
INT. HOSPITAL - LATER
The group is reunited. The girls hug and kiss their partners.
Penny: (hugging Leonard) Don't ever scare me like that again.
Bernadette: (scolding Howard) You're lucky I love you.
Amy: (kissing Sheldon) I'm glad you're safe.
Rafael: (embracing David) I'm so sorry I missed the flight. We'll reschedule.
David: (smiling) I'm just glad you're okay. Hawaii can wait. I've already rescheduled it.
Leonard: (smirking) So, anyone up for not taking shortcuts next time?
Howard: (laughing) Agreed. No more tunnels.
Raj: (grinning) And let's avoid earthquakes too.
Sheldon: (nodding) A wise decision. I prefer stability in my travels.
The group laughs, relieved to be together and safe. Despite the chaos, they know they can handle anything as long as they have each other.
