It's the way she makes breakfast for her.

Jade is not like the rest of them. You know. The ones who hastily throw ingredients and hope for the best. Or the ones who meticulously follow through instructions from a website just because she was an spoiled, unproductive something-something.

No. Jade cooks breakfast with her heart.

The way a woman in love does.

A simple spam and scrambled egg meal is made whilst she hums softly under her breath, hips swaying along an unknown beat.

It usually ends with Althea wrapping her arms around Jade and joining her until she places kisses along any exposed skin she can reach.

xXx

It's the way she argues with her ex.

Althea is not like the rest of them. You know. The ones who talk awkwardly to their exes as if they're afraid to set off their current partner. Or those who flirt with them to make their beaus jealous.

The ones who use emotions like a weapon.

No.

Althea talks to Wila like she's an annoying sister. She's not scared of slinging an arm around the feisty woman casually yet she bites Wila's head off whenever the photographer stepped out of line.

And Jade loves that about her, but she loves to tease her by pouting in a corner with her arms crossed like a child.

It usually ends with Jade giving in when Althea whispers sweet-nothings to her ears until her pout morphs into a mouth screaming in ecstacy.

xXx

It's the way Jade sleeps with her pillows.

Or lack of pillow.

Althea cannot fathom why a person would refuse the fluffly goodness. It greatly confuses her, because how can she sleep on a flat mattress? The coordinator gets a stiff neck just by thinking about it. Her bed in their shared condo has full of pillows, but the heiress still don't use them.

Not one morning has Jade complained with a sore neck.

But Althea holds her tongue about forcing her to use one.

Because it usually ends with Jade using her chest as a pillow, pressing her lips to her skin. Or her stomach. Or her thighs. Or... oh.

xXx

It's the way Althea plays her guitar.

And no, Althea Guevarra does not play the guitar. She "plays" it like Jade's heart strings.

And she damn well knows how to play it.

Meaning, pitch black eyes barely glance at the instrument and almost never leaving light mocha orbs whilst a soft angelic voice accompanies the melodies.

(Jade is sure her heart never minds to be played with)

Sometimes, she joins Althea and tries to make a duet out of it so it would seem more romantic.

It is.

But most of the time, it ends up with Althea abandoning her guitar and sweet, soulful lyrics will be replaced with pleadings to God for more. faster. yes.

xXx

It's the way Jade plays with Miggy.

Both of them.

When Jade first saw Miggy the pup, she instantly fell in love with him. She reminisced her first dog given by her beloved Dihiya, and how she never adopted another after it died.

Then she learned about Miggy. Her long lost son. At first, the world seemed like it was about to end. Jade left her so she could think.

And then she came back.

Now, both Miggy's are attached to the half-Chinese woman and they love her so much, it practically hurt both of them to watch her leave.

(Miggy the pup has collided its head countless of times because it was chasing Jade out of the door.)

It usually ends with Jade staying over for the night and the four members of the Guevarra-Tanchingco family snuggled on a queen-sized bed.

xXx

It's the way Althea adores her Ama.

On the days they sneak into the Tanchingco mansion— with the help of Dihiya— Althea engulfs the matriarch with a warm embrace.

Ama does the same.

Knowing the story of how unhappy Jade was in this prison-like mansion, all staffs are eager to keep this affair to themselves. They serve them luncheons as if Althea is part of the family.

In truth, Cecilia Tanchingco is the one who orchestrates the whole thing.

Althea's hunch guessed the situation and in return, she respects Ama like she's Felix Guevarra incarnate.

It usually ends with Jade feeling an overflowing love when she watches the two interact and once they go home, she shows her partner how much she appreciate her.

xXx

It's the way Jade defies her family.

Sure it didn't seem that way before— when their relationship was a big factor to the rift between Jade and her family.

But she fought for her happiness. She fought for Althea. She fought for them.

She's still touchy about it. Though her family is resigned to accept them, Jade's bottom lip trembles because she misses the people who brought her into this world.

Each time, Althea's heart breaks a little.

However, it ends with Jade jutting her chin up and kissing Althea soundly on her lips, mumbling how she's the love of her life.

xXx

It's the way they say I love you. Whether one is rushing out of their home for work, whenever she says it, the other never fails to say it back.

I love you.

And it ends with—

Wait.

No.

They never end.
