The next morning when you woke up you were greeted by your bedroom door opening slowly.
"Good morning, Sweetheart. I figured since we have today off I'd treat you to breakfast in bed." Tony's rough morning tone rang in as he walked towards your bed with a tray filled with food.
"You didn't have to do that Tony. Please, join me?" You asked and shifted in your bed to make room for him.
"If you insist." He winked as he set down the tray and sat down beside you and wrapped an arm around you before planting a tender kiss on your temple, slightly surprising you with the sudden display of affection.
"I will always insist when it comes to you, Tony." You smiled and picked up a strawberry and brought it to your lips to take a bite of it before humming in delight at its sweet taste.
"You know there's something about your lips that is simply irresistible this morning and every hour of the day for that matter." He leaned over and whispered into your ear, sending shivers down your spine in response.
"Is that true?" You asked flirtatiously once you had recovered from his words.
"It is. It is very true, I assure you of that. God just looking at your lips right now could drive any man insane, may I kiss you?" His eyes flicked down to your lips before going back to your eyes looking for an answer to his request.
"Not right now, Love. I have morning breath and we both know that's not the most attractive thing in the world." You pushed his shoulder away playfully slightly wishing you had woken up earlier to brush your teeth for this very moment.
"That won't stop me, But since you declined I will respect your request." Tony backed up but not before grabbing the strawberry from your hand and biting into it and humming in delight at your expression.
"As much as I would love to say yes, truly. I must decline since I have a bad case of morning breath this morning." You spoke as you pushed his head away from you playfully once again.
"You're insane." You laughed once you saw him making a funny face at you and rolled your eyes at him.!
"Insane for you," he retorted with a smirk, leaning in to steal another strawberry from the tray. The rest of the morning passed in a similar playful manner, setting a light and joyous mood for the day ahead.
The rest of the day was spent in a similar relaxed manner. You both decided to stay in, opting for a quiet day indoors. Tony showed you some of his latest projects, sharing his vision and excitement. Despite his playful demeanor, you could see the passion and dedication he had for his work, and it was truly inspiring.
"You know, you never told me about how you found Briar." You spoke up as you were making the pasta while Tony was chopping up the veggies for a salad and despite his many talents, he confessed that he wasn't much of a cook, but he was more than willing to learn under your guidance.
"I was actually looking all day after I left you at the apartment. Then I found out a friend of mine had a purebred wolf hound and she had recently had a litter of puppies so, I reached out and spent some time with each puppy but little Briar was the one. She was so smart and even tempered compared to the rest of her siblings." He answered while focusing on making even cuts into the peppers.
"She's a perfect girl indeed." You smiled at the puppy who came running into the kitchen upon hearing her name from Tony.
After dinner, you settled on the couch, with Briar Rose snuggled between you, and decided to watch another classic movie. This time, you chose 'Gone with the Wind', a movie both of you hadn't seen in a while. As the movie played, you found yourself leaning against Tony, his arm naturally wrapping around you.
It felt comfortable and right, being here with him like this. You looked up at him, meeting his gaze. His eyes held a warmth that made your heart flutter. Feeling brave, you leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. It was brief, but it was enough to make Tony's eyes widen in surprise.
As you pulled back, you gave him a shy smile. "I brushed my teeth this time, promise." you teased with a wink, trying to lighten the mood. Tony barked out a laugh while pulling you closer to his side in excitement.
"I'm glad to hear that, because I did too." he replied with a grin before leaning down to capture your lips for another kiss. This time, it was longer and full of genuine feelings, and a promise of more to come for the two of you.
"Be mine?" He asked once the two of you pulled apart to take a moment's breath.
"I'd love nothing more." You placed a hand on his cheek and brought his face closer to yours once more and kissed his lips.
From that day forward, things between you and Tony changed. You were no longer just his personal assistant, you were also his girlfriend. It was a new experience for both of you, but one you were both more than willing to explore.
Despite the new change in your relationship, work continued as usual. You were there to assist Tony, helping him manage his work and accompany him in meetings. However, now you also had the privilege to be there for him on a personal level, to stand by his side not just as his assistant, but also as his partner when he faced personal challenges regarding Stane who you had come to know as Tony's Father figure in a way.
Your relationship with Tony brought a new level of happiness and contentment in your life. You discovered more about him, his dreams, his fears, his past, and his hopes for the future which now included you in it. And in turn, you shared yours with him. It was a beautiful journey of discovery and love, and you wouldn't trade your time with him for anything.
"Since our time here in Malibu is almost up we should leave with a bang, right Sweetheart?" Tony asked from his seat at the desk.
"What are you thinking?" You asked with a raised brow, genuinely curious about what was going on inside of his head at that very moment.
"Hmmm. Maybe a fancy dinner tonight. How about we leave early today and get you a nice dress, shoes, maybe a couple other little treats thrown in there? My treat." He took a moment to look up at you and smiled.
"You don't have to do that, I can pay for that stuff on my own. You pay me enough already, Love." You answered not wanting him to foot the bill for everything the two of you did together.
"Perfect, we'll leave at two today." He said as he looked down at his wristwatch checking the current time and making sure the two of you had enough time to get some actual work done before leaving for the day.
"That sounds good. I'm going to finish inputting this data in the system and I'll be back in a bit." You told him before leaving his office to go back to yours to complete the rest of the tasks you needed to get done by the time you needed to leave.
The next few hours were spent in a flurry of activity as you and Tony prepared to leave the office early. You notified the necessary departments and ensured that everything was in order before shutting down your computer and meeting Tony at the entrance of the office.
"Ready to go, sweetheart?" he asked, a smile playing on his lips as he wrapped an arm around your waist and planting a kiss on your lips. You nodded as he pulled away from you, excitement bubbling inside of you as you headed out of the office and towards the shopping district. Little did you know, this was just the beginning of an unforgettable night that Tony had planned.
As you stepped into the first boutique, you couldn't help but marvel at the exquisite dresses on the display mannequins and on the racks. Tony, ever the gentleman, was patient and supportive as you tried on various outfits that the both of you had picked out, offering his opinions when asked but mostly just enjoying your happiness every time you came out to show him how the dress looked on you.
It took a while, but eventually, you found the perfect dress. It was a beautiful light blue tea length gown, elegant and timeless, that made you feel like a princess. Tony's eyes lit up when he saw you in it, and you knew then that you had made the right choice.
