A hero in the midst

He's back

Deep in the Nether, a young boy is searching for a relic because of a dare, trying not to show he's scared. The boy's name is Travis, dared by Dante, Gene's younger brother.

Travis:" W-what relic a-are we searching for a-again?" Travis asks, clearly scared. He knows what he is getting himself into, but he can't back down now.

Dante grins, "We're looking for the Shadow Lord's relic, remember?" He teases. "Or are you too scared?" Travis was surprised by that. Dante had, and always will be, his best friend, but that took it too far. "I'm not!" Travis recoils, though he's talking to himself on that one.

Dante and Travis continue on, going deeper into the Nether, when Travis saw something quickly disappear.

Travis:" Dante, DaNTE, DANTE! I think I just saw HIM!" Travis exclaims, scared to death even though Dante didn't see anything at all besides lava.

Dante:"Travis, there's nothing there alright? Why are you so scared? I'm your friend, so please tell me the truth." Dante said, slightly worried that Travis was hallucinating because of the heat.

Travis:" fine. I was once a host for- for the Shadow Lord!" Travis said, saying the last part rather quickly. This caught Dante's attention.

Dante:" What!? Travis, you could have said you didn't want to do this!" Dante exclaims, and Travis just mutters under his breath while trying not to insult Dante.

Travis:*Well I did, but you dared me to do this* *sigh* look, I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier, but I didn't want you to not be my friend ok?" Travis said, looking dejected and sad.

Dante:" I get it, but right now, I think you should look behind you." Dante stutters, pointing out something behind Travis, who was now horrified.

Travis:" RUN, DANTE, RUN!!!" Travis yells while running as fast as he could. But Dante wasn't as bright as Travis was, and stood there until he was deemed a Shadow Knight, and Travis knew that he had to trap his used-to-be friend. But soon enough, he too was a Shadow Knight.

Shadow Lord: "Finally, my plan can be put into action! Although I may have to get some smarter ones, these two will have to work as Shadow Knights. Go my minions, and make sure that whatever happens, you bring me Zane Ro'Meave first.

Dante/Travis:"Understood sir!"

Shadow Lord:" good, we can't have him embarrassing me again, now can we?" The two Shadow Knights shook their heads in agreement.

Shadow Lord POV:" If he were to defeat me again, that's a greater embarrassment than Irene punishing me. I mean, he just a human! How could he have defeated someone like ME, of all people?"

-meanwhile-

Zane: Hey aph, do you ever get the feeling that you were here to do something else?" Zane asked, while staring at the stars that night.

Aphmau:"Hm, sometimes, I guess. Why? Do you have secrets that we don't really know about?" Aphmau says, teasing Zane a little bit in a friendly way.But Zane's response wasn't expected.

Zane:" I guess... It's just.. I have a feeling that someone is going to attack, and we're not ready for it yet." Zane replied, gazing into the abyss of darkness, and Aphmau looked at him worried.

Aphmau:" ok, what's wrong Zane. You know you can talk to me, right?" Zane looks at her, then sighs.

Zane:" if I tell you what's wrong, you promise not to tell anyone else?" Aphmau started to get concerned, but reluctantly promised, and Zane told the entire story from start to end, leaving aphmau surprised.

Aphmau:" You mean to tell me that everything you've said that's come true, is because you're actually from a race of angels and demons!?" She shouted, while Zane made the 'hush' sign with his fingers.

Zane:" I'm afraid so Aphmau. I'm afraid so." He says, sadly looking at the grass. It bothered him that he had to hide all of it, but it was to be revealed sooner or later, right?
