034. DO YOU GET DEJA VU

Chapter thirty four

"Do you get deja vu." 

Having changed the tire, Diana and Jeremiah were back on the road again as they were heading over the bridge that meant they were finally in the town of cousins, and as they did Diana's stomach gurgled, as Jeremiah looked over at her "oh, my god, was that your stomach?" he asked, as he looked back at the road, Diana raised her brows and looked to him "well for the record after drinking as much as I did last night the smell of food alone made me want to throw up but now that I've had my coffee and am no longer feeling hungover, I am practically starving." she shared.

"Well, lucky for you we are almost to pie." Jeremiah shared, as Diana smirked "Rosies?" she asked him "so you want to stop or.." Jeremiah asked, as Diana scoffed "do I wanna stop? What kind of question is that! Of course I wanna stop!" she voiced, chuckling and when she did, Jeremiah chuckled with her as he looked over at her while Diana was looking out the window.

The two soon drove the road, and turned right into Rosie's as they pulled in and parked in between the two car's, Jeremiah turned the car off, as him and Diana got out, walking up to the front counter to order, Diana hummed "what to get. What to get." she said, looking over the menu "I think it's gonna have to be.." she was saying as she smiled "strawberry." her and Jeremiah then said at the same time.

Diana chuckled, turning to him with furrowed brows "that was.." she asked him "yeah? Weird." Jeremiah told her "no, it's just we haven't been an us in a while so I just didn't expect you to know that..but! What I did expect was for you to not eat any pie because your working on your abs although you always end up stealing a bite of mine anyway." Diana shared, as Jeremiah gasped "I know! See? I know you, you know me." Diana told him, motioning between the two of them.

Jeremiah scoffed "I mean, they are a service to mankind." he shared, making Diana scoff "oh shut up." she told him, shoving him playfully, Jeremiah chuckled "Diana?" a familiar voice asked, as Diana's eyes went wide, her and Jeremiah turned seeing Nicole, as Jeremiah leaned toward's Diana "should I be worried or.." he asked "if you see a pie in her hands yes but for right now, no..I am perfectly capable of having a civil conversation with the girl who left me stranded thanks to Conrad and my sister's dumb decisions." Diana shared, as Jeremiah patted her on the shoulder "I'll get your pie, and I'll be watching the whole time." he shared.

"My hero." Diana told him, chuckling, as she walked toward's Nicole, she missed how Jeremiah smiled, seeing as he hadn't been called someone's hero in a while now, seeing that was him and Diana's thing, although even after the two made up earlier on the side of the road, he didn't expect her to call him that again, as he turned to wait for her strawberry pie.

Diana had made it over to Nicole "hey, Nicole." she told her "hey, I was sorry to hear about him and Conrad's mom. She was so lovely." Nicole shared "yeah, she definitely was. I'll let him know you said that." Diana shared, turning back to Jeremiah who was indeed watching them "how are he and Conrad doing? I reached out after the funeral, but I never heard back." Nicole shared, as Diana turned back to her "and I figured things were intense, so.." Nicole added on "yeah, um..she was their mom you know so it's..it's tough." Diana shared "yeah.." Nicole told her "so how are you and all the others?" Diana asked, being nice.

"Well, I saw Marisa last week, but, uh, Gigi's dad got caught in some insider trading thing and they had to sell their house." Nicole shared "wow..I mean that's awful but for someone like her it can't be too bad, right? I mean with magazines and stuff her family must be all over the internet." Diana shared "yeah, they're supposedly making a documentary about it." Nicole shared "and I heard from Steven that Shayla's in, um, Europe." Diana told her "yes, so the gangs all broken up. But I guess that was bound to happen at some point. But what about you? I didn't even know you guys were coming this year." Nicole shared.

"Um..that's..that's a long story." Diana shared, chuckling, as she looked back at Jeremiah who stuck his finger in her pie and licked his finger off "I knew it!" she voiced, as she turned looking back at Nicole "I, um, have to save my pie from the pie thief but It was nice catching up with you." she shared "yeah, you too." Nicole told her, as Diana turned back around, running over to Jeremiah, jumping on his back, Jeremiah brought his arms around her legs on instinct holding her there as he laughed "you are insane, you know that?" he asked her "and you are stealing my pie!" Diana voiced "I barely even had a bite!" Jeremiah voiced, making Diana laugh and as she did, the two thought back to the night they had come to cousins for christmas.

It was December and the two had convinced Conrad to stop at the place where they always got the good muffins from, where Conrad and Belly walked out both holding hot chocolates, Diana and Jeremiah came walking out behind them with one's as well, although as they did, Jeremiah leaned toward's Diana's, sticking his finger on the top of it and stealing her whip cream "hey!" Diana voiced, nudging him away from her "what?" Jeremiah asked her, eating the whip cream, Diana scoffed "what do you mean what? You just stole my whip cream!" she voiced, as Jeremiah chuckled "I don't know what your talking about." he told her.

As Diana looked at the whip cream on his and grabbed his arm with her free hand and pulled his cup toward's her, she took a bite out of his "hey! You are insane!" Jeremiah voiced, pulling his cup away from her, Diana licked it off her lips "you stole mine first." she told him "I barely even had a bite! You took a chunk out of mine." Jeremiah voiced, inspecting his, Conrad turned and looked at the two of them "do I need to separate the two of you?" he asked, as Belly chuckled, Diana and Jeremiah looked to them "he stole my whip cream." Diana told them, while Jeremiah said "she stole my whip cream." 

Where Belly and Conrad laughed, Conrad turned around, opening the passenger side door for Belly "thank you." Belly told him, getting in, and as she did, Conrad shut the door behind her, as he looked to Jeremiah and Diana who were standing there drinking their hot chocolate "get in before I leave you two here and you have to walk to the house." he shared, walking around the car and to the drivers seat, Diana ran toward's the car "no!" Jeremiah voiced, running after her.

Diana laughed, trying to open the back door, but as she did, Jeremiah shut it on her "no!" Diana voiced, laughing, as Jeremiah smiled at her, opening the car door, Diana smiled back at him, climbing in, Jeremiah climbed in behind her, as he shut the door, Conrad began walking off.

Diana and Jeremiah were then staring at each other "you ready?" Jeremiah asked her "yeah." Diana told him, jumping off of him, she grabbed the pie, as she turned running off toward's the car, Jeremiah laughed, running after her, but instead of getting the passenger side of the door, he went around to the drivers side, while Diana opened the passenger side door, the two were laughing as they got in, Jeremiah then started the car up and began backing out of the parking spot to head off.
