The mayor answered numerous questions about the education policy changes. Yet all I could think about was those poor women. Would he address it? Would anyone even ask about the elephant in the room?

"Should I ask?" Kaya looks at me.

"No way you're that bold." I respond.

"Well if I don't do it, who else will?" Kaya raises her hand without further argument.

Oh God.

"Yes mam," The mayor makes eye contact with Kaya as she stands to her feet.

"Are we going to discuss those poor innocent women who have been drugged and raped? What are the so called police doing to look for this guy?"

Numerous in the people crowd shout and agree causing the security to be on edge.

"Alright, alright everyone calm down. The police are doing everything they can to find this guy. They're adding security to bars and there are more patrol cars during the time when these women are getting hurt."

"How does no one know what he looks like? I have a daughter. How do I tell her who to look out for?" A random man asks.

"The women who have been manipulated by this man were heavily induced with drugs through drinks or injections causing them to suffer from memory loss. They can't seem to describe him. We have no suspects or leads to bring in for the women to even try to identify. Your best bet is to make sure your daughter and all women out there are extra careful. Keep mace on you and don't go anywhere alone. Don't leave your drinks unattended. I promise you we're working on this."

"Well if he's attacking at night. Why not a curfew?" A woman adds.

People in the audience agree with him causing it to get loud once again.

Kaya was right, it was a discussion that needed to be had. Personally, I had nothing to defend myself with. No pepper spray, mace, pocket knife.

About thirty minutes later, the town hall finally ended. I can't lie I was on edge now. I watched too much TV. There was a good chance that suspect could be in this audience. Some people were sick like that.

Not paying attention to where I was walking, I bump into Leah.

"Oh! I'm so sorry. I wasn't paying attention," I quickly apologize.

"Oh no it's okay!" She notices Kaya next to me and a smile grows on her face.

"Kaya! How's it going? Is this your friend?"

"Hi Leah! Yes, one and only. We're just about to decide on some dinner plans."

"Wait, you guys should join Chris and I." She offers as Mr.Hemsworth walks up next to her.

"Oh Kristen. Hey, I didn't know you were here." He smiles at me.

"Hey Mr.Hemsworth,"

"Please, call me Chris."

"Wait you two know each other? This is such a small town." Leah laughs.

I look down at both of their hands. No rings but the same last name?

"Yeah we work together. She's new at Parks." He says with a smile not breaking eye contact with me.
