Chapter 2

Of course right after school and riding lessons, Lily, Renee, Sahila, Amoy, Abbie, and Isabelle were at my dorms.

We picked out outfits and did some light makeup. Did each other's hair and so forth.

The party was like the first one that I went to last year. Behind the dormitories.

It was also at that party that Jacob killed Nyx...

Seth was definitely not pleased when I said I was going. He was even more unpleased when he remembered he needed to go with me.

The decorator did a theme like last year, with sudden lightly lining the tree branches, a loud speaker to play music to dance to, and a giant table full of drinks.

I stood there feeling out of place with Abbie, Zack, Seth, and Amoy when I saw something in the corner of my eye. There by the edge of the party clearing stood Luke with his new friends. But better yet Alora, Meilin, Camille, Vanessa, and Jessica all stood by him. The whole group was chatting and laughing.

I felt a pang of sadness. Three of those people I'd trusted. Then they left me. Now they are all acting like long time buddies.

I shake my head. I shouldn't be sad to loose them. They don't deserve to be my friends anyways... right?

"You look like you would rather be anywhere but here" Ryan walks up.

"How could you tell?" I ask.

"Your face looks like you're hanging around in a room full of people who liked your dog" he jokes.

"Is it really that bad?"

"Yup" he says.

"I'm going to get a drink" Amoy says before walking off.

"What are you doing tomorrow on Saturday?" Ryan asks me. "Any plans?"

"Riding Percy for a bit and homework, you?" I ask.

"Nothing so far, I was planning on taking a trip to the water park. You know, the one that you can sign up to go visit for the day?" He explains.

I knew what he was talking about. The whole school was excited to sign up and go on a mini 'Vacation' to the water park. I hadn't planned on going...

"Where can we sign up? It sounds like fun" Abbie asks after putting her phone away. She was probably texting Isabelle who was sick and could come to the party tonight.

"The office. You just have to get a group from 5-10 people. You know, so no one gets lost and whatnot." Ryan explained.

"We should go" Zack says. "Senior year after all."

Right. Senior year...

"I'm in" I say. "Ryan?"

"Won't miss it." He says.

"That's four people." Zack says.

"Five, I'm coming" Seth says. Finally speaking for the first time tonight.

"What going on?" Max and Aren walk up.

"Water park, you in?" I ask. Then I mentally slapped myself. Didn't Ryan have beef with them or something?

"We are in" Max says. "Is it okay is Jess comes? And Ben?"

"We've got room" Abbie says.

"That leaves one more spot..." Zack says.

"Vivi" Aren says.

"We've got a full group then" Ryan says.

"Vivi has a fencing camp, she can't go" I remind Aren.

"Right" Aren says. Vivi had been talking about it last Friday night dinner.

"Amoy? I can ask her" I suggest.

"That works"Max says.
