WOOP WOOP

---------

"Carl, it's not funny." She scolded the boy as his father approached a building. Spikes, spears, and very sharp sticks lined the doorway entrance.

"Come on. Booby trap is such a funny word."He told her with a small chuckle.

She shook her head. All this because Rick had said to "keep an eye out for booby traps". She didn't want to pay attention to that though. There were only two things on her mind:

1. Getting the hell out like Rick said

2. figuring out why on earth they were staying with this man

He'd tried to kill them. End of story.

She watched Michonne and Rick argue in the doorway when something Michonne said caught her ear. The words "Look, I know you said he helped you-". Did Rick know him before everything went to shit? Maybe he was also a police officer... No. Carl didn't recognize him.

"He saved my life." Rick corrected, giving the woman a stern look. Rick then turned his gaze to Carl and Diana. Carl still had his gun raised at the rest of the downtown area. Diana knew she probably was supposed to keep an eye out as well but Rick had already seen her eavesdropping. No use in pretending she wasn't so she didn't bother to look away. Besides, he didn't look mad. He looked... "Jesus, he has a son." Rick breathed out as he looked back in the building.

Finally the pieces clicked together. This was Morgen. When Rick had first gotten back to the quarry in Atlanta he'd said a man named Morgen and his son had helped him. This must have been after Diana had left. Still.. they needed to go.

Rick took slow steps towards the door.

"Don't." Michonne whispered right before he'd stepped on the welcome mat.

Diana was confused why until it had been peeled away, revealing the sharp spikes it had been hiding.

Rick thanked her and then asked them to get Morgen and bring him in.

---

The man was slung over Michonne and Ricks shoulders as they brought him into the building. Diana separated herself from Carl and went in front of the two adults. "Carl can watch the back. I'll watch the front for anymore traps." She told Rick when he frowned at her actions. She didn't give him time to argue before she went up the stairs.

She almost missed it, but she spotted a wire drawn across the stairs. "Watch your step guys. There's a wire." She tapped the stair softly before she hopped over it. It wouldn't be that big off an obstacle. It was only strung up by a few inches.

Michonne, Morgen, and Rick carefully stepped over it as Diana went further up the steps. At the top, there was a thin plastic curtain with writing on it. And before she had time to wonder what sort of trap the wire might have set off, she peeled away the curtain.

"Ummm... watch your step over here too." She said as she came face to face with an already bloodied axe. So that's what the wire did.

She stepped to the side and pulled aside the curtain for the adults and Carl. Once Carl was through, she let go and followed.

She looked quietly as the gray blue walls. Words written in chalk decorated almost every single one of them. And then when she followed them into the next room...

Weapons.

Everywhere.

There was a box of grenades.
