A tense silence hung heavy in the air, punctuated only by the distant echo of the departing buyer. The Oberoi family, bewildered and displaced, sat together, their opulent home now a stranger. Suddenly, the sound of approaching footsteps shattered the stillness. Heads turned towards the entrance, and a collective gasp escaped their lips.

Annika, dressed in a sharp pantsuit that exuded an aura of power and self-assurance, walked towards them. Gone was the girl they remembered from five years ago. This Annika held her head high, her eyes glinting with a steely resolve.

She approached Dadi first, gracefully bending down to touch her feet in respect. One by one, she greeted the others, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. Shivay, in particular, couldn't tear his gaze away. The pale, fragile woman he'd admitted to the hospital just weeks ago seemed a distant memory.

"Annika beta, what brings you here?" Dadi inquired, her voice filled with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.

Before Annika could respond, Pinky chimed in.  "Perhaps she's come to gloat," she sneered, her voice dripping with sarcasm.  "Married into the wealthy Singhania household, she must find amusement in our misfortune."

Annika, unfazed by Pinky's hostility, met her gaze calmly. "Dadi," she began, addressing the elder woman once more, "I came to see my house."

Her words were a bombshell.  Stunned silence descended upon the room as the implications sunk in.

"Your house?" Om echoed, his voice barely a whisper.

A confident smile graced Annika's lips. "Yes, Om. I am the owner now."

The bombshell dropped.  Confusion morphed into stunned silence.  They couldn't comprehend how the girl they'd thrown out years ago could now be the owner of their prized possession.

Annika continued, "so I decided to buy this house and give it back to you. You can all stay here, just like before.  In a week, my lawyer will transfer the ownership to Dadi's name."

"Annika, you can't be serious, can you?" Dadi whispered, her voice choked with emotion.  The woman who had once been a part of their family, a girl they couldn't protect, now stood before them, holding their fate in her hands.

Shivay, with his business acumen, sensed there was more to this than met the eye.  Annika wasn't one for impulsive gestures.  He cut through the emotional tension.

"Annika," he said, his voice steady, "tell us what's behind this. What's your motive?"

A flicker of a smile played on Annika's lips.  "You're sharp, Mr. Oberoi," she conceded.

"For fifty million dollars," she continued, her voice dropping to a low, impactful tone, "I didn't just buy Oberoi Mansion.  I bought Shivay Singh Oberoi."

Shock and confusion registered on every face.  What did she mean?

She dropped another bombshell.

"Mr. Oberoi will be joining the Singhania household – as their son-in-law.  He will reside there as a ghar jamai for a period of time, fulfilling his duties as a husband and father to the child he'll meet there."

Annika laid out her terms, her voice leaving no room for argument.  "If Mr. Oberoi fulfills this condition, the Oberoi Mansion will be transferred back to your name, Dadi.  However, if he refuses, then I'm afraid you'll have to find somewhere else to live."

She reached into her purse, pulling out a card with a written address.  "In two days," she announced, "you will report to this address, where you'll meet your new family."

With that, Annika turned on her heel and walked out, leaving the Oberoi family reeling in the wake of her unexpected offer and shocking conditions.  The house they thought they'd lost was back in their grasp, but at a steep price – Shivay's future.  As the weight of her words settled in, a storm of emotions brewed within them – confusion, anger, and a sliver of hope.  The future was uncertain, but one thing was clear – their lives were about to change dramatically.

Shivay watched Annika disappear, his mind a tangled mess. The woman he barely recognized had dangled their future on a string, demanding an outrageous condition in return for their home. His gaze swept across his family, their faces reflecting a mix of disbelief morphing into a dawning realization of the impossible situation.

Dadi, her silence heavy with unspoken emotions, stared at the expensive card Annika had left behind. A single tear traced a path down her wrinkled cheek, a silent testament to the complexity of their predicament.

Shivay's pride took a significant blow, replaced by a surge of anger towards Annika. The woman he'd loved and lost, once his wife, now dictated his future with the cold efficiency of a business deal.  His jaw clenched, a defiant glint sparking in his eyes.  "Ghar jamai? Does she think I'm some kind of servant she can buy and control?"

"Bhaiyya," Rudra stammered, voicing the question hanging heavy in the air, "what are we going to do now? Should I start looking for a new place? Or maybe..." his voice trailed off, unable to finish the bleak thought.

Pinky chimed in, her voice laced with disbelief, "How can Annika be so ruthless? Asking her ex-husband to marry her sister-in-law and take care of her child!  Shivay, you don't have to worry, beta. We can call relatives and friends for help. Until then, we can stay here."

One day passed in a flurry of frantic activity.  Calls were made to friends and relatives, but their pleas for help were met with a disheartening lack of support.  One by one, their so-called support system folded their hands, unwilling to get entangled in the Oberoi family's mess.

That night, during a tense dinner, Shivay announced his decision.  "I've decided to accept Annika's condition," he declared, his voice heavy with resignation.  "I'll go there tomorrow morning. I'll become their Ghar Jamai and find some work to do.  That way, all of you can stay here peacefully."

Pinky, her voice laced with disbelief, protested, "But Shivay, why would you do that?"

Shivay met her gaze, his voice laced with a bitter truth.  "This mess is a consequence of my scandal.  I have to bear the punishment."

With that, he left the dining room, leaving behind a stunned family and the weight of a decision that would change their lives forever. The once-proud Oberoi family was on the brink of a dramatic upheaval, forced to rely on the woman they had cast out years ago. The future remained shrouded in uncertainty, a tangled web of emotions and unspoken secrets waiting to be unraveled.

Four days ago the news of Shivay's scandal sent shockwaves through Annika. Despite the distance and their strained relationship, she knew him well enough to believe in his innocence. Shivay, fiercely dedicated to his company, wouldn't stoop to such tactics.

As she grappled with how to approach him, another piece of information caught her attention: the Oberoi mansion was going up for auction. An idea sparked in her mind, a potential solution to their problems. Shivay, deeply devoted to his family, would do anything to protect their legacy.

Annika, ever resourceful, dispatched a trusted employee with a single instruction – buy the mansion at any cost.

Initially, her plan had been to convince Shivay to pose as her husband, exploiting the loophole of their unfinalized divorce.  However, Pinky's casual remark about Annika being married served as a harsh reminder – Shivay likely believed the same.  A mischievous glint entered her eyes.  Perhaps some well-placed torture was in order.  She would allow Shivay to stew for two days thinking of the discomfort of living under the same roof, albeit as in-laws.

Before Shivay arrival, Annika had a more pressing task at hand – convincing her family of his innocence. She understood that if they believed the accusations, forcing her into another marriage wouldn't be out of the question.  With a determined glint in her eyes, she booked the first flight back to the Singhania Mansion, ready to clear Shivay's name and set her audacious plan in motion.
