I was standing with Ehan and a couple he knew closely. We were talking about the house they the couple just bought. They were inviting us to their place which Ehan accepted.

"Hello guys!" A female voice, interrupted us.

Everyone looked at her direction. She smiled at us warmly as if she didn't not meet me a few minutes ago neither she said any harsh words to me.

"Hello!" Everyone replied including Ehan.

"How are you Ehan?" She smiled at him.

"I am fine. How are you Rahma?" He rested his hand on my waist and asked her calmly as if he wasn't shocked to see her there as I was.

"I am fine but your wife doesn't seem fine" She pointed at me.

"She is just not feeling well" He said to her and kissed my temple. I could see the hatred in Rahma's eyes when Ehan kissed me.

"What happened dear?" She asked me.

Everyone there knew about her history with my husband. Her behavior was awkward for everyone. I was feeling very uncomfortable in this situation. All of my excitement for the evening vanished away in thin air.

"I am fine" I replied to her looking straight into her eyes.

"Good" She nodded and averted her eyes at Ehan "I will see you soon" She said to him and left.

Ehan was still looking at the direction she was standing a few seconds ago. Was he not happy that she left too early? Did he want to go behind her?

I tried to smile at the couple in front of me who understood my awkwardness. I couldn't enjoy the evening anymore.

I was having my dinner with the wives of Ehan's friends when my gaze fell at two people talking to each other. They were Rahma and Ehan.

I couldn't swallow the morsel in my mouth. I swallowed it down difficulty.

My eyes couldn't believe when I saw Ehan laughing with her. They were talking casually, laughing with each other. It didn't seem that they met after ages. It seemed like they were meeting each other. They looked comfortable and happy.

I had hardly seen him laughing. He wasn't an expressive person especially around me. He had a different bonding with his friends and family but with me he was a completely different person.

Only because he didn't want to marry me. He was forced by his parents to marry me.

'Meri beti ka naseeb bohat acha hoga. Meri beti ko ek bohat chahne wala shohar mile ga' Her mother's voice echoed in my mind as if she was just here with her.

(My daughter will get a very loving husband. He would be a nice person)

Mehrbano wanted to scream at the moment so that her mother could hear her that she wasn't loved. Her daughter was just like her.
