THEY SAY THAT TIME FLIES WHEN YOU'RE HAVING FUN, AND FOR ANASTASIA, THAT WAS PROVED TO BE TRUE. November and December flew past in the blink of an eye, and before she knew it, the Christmas holidays were upon them.

Christmas was a complex time for Anastasia. Although her birthday and Christmas coincided with each other, making it a double-holiday, she wasn't looking forward to it. She knew her parents were mad at her, and on top of that, it was her first Christmas without Andromeda.

Anastasia and Pandora walked side-by-side through the common room and to their dormitories, ready to pack their trunks for their time away.

"I can't wait to see my cousins, they're coming to stay with us over Christmas!" Pandora rambled excitedly as they reached their dorm. "I haven't seen them in so long. They're younger than me, you see. They don't go to Hogwarts yet. I miss them dearly."

"That's like what we do!" Anastasia said, opening the door. "We stay with Sirius and his little brother Reggie. They're lots of fun, but none of my other cousins are. They're all old, and boring." She scrunched her nose in disgust.

Christie and Marceline are inside, already packing. Marceline was methodically folding her clothes and placing them neatly in her trunk, a stark contrast to Christie, who was haphazardly throwing in her belongings. On the windowsill, Anastasia's owl, Freya, was sitting patiently.

Anastasia moved over to Freya, petting her feathers softly. "Hello, Freya." She whispered. "It's lovely to see you." She pushed the window open, encouraging her out. "I'll come find you later, okay? Bye now." She watched as the owl flew off.

"Hey, Anastasia." Christie said. "There's a letter here for you, Freya dropped it off." She pointed to an envelope on Anastasia's bed, sitting on top of her clothes that had been messily thrown all over her bed in a way that would make her mother faint at the sight.

"Oh, thanks." Anastasia flopped onto her bed, picking up the envelope in her hands and flipping it over. The only writing is "Anastasia Luna" written neatly in the middle. Leaning back against her pillows, she curiously ripped it open.

Anastasia,
Meet me on the first floor corridor, near the statue of Gregory the Smarmy, tonight and midnight.

The letter was not signed off by anyone, but the cursive writing held a sense of familiarity that she couldn't quite place her finger on. She'd seen that writing somewhere before, she knew it, she just couldn't remember where. Against her better judgment, she finds herself trusting them, already beginning to make a plan to sneak out without getting caught.
