Natalia's pov
I rushed to the ladies washroom, trying my best not to trip in those five inches heels.
As I reached there, I splashed some cold water on my face, to relieve myself.
Breathe Lia. Breathe. You are stronger than this.
I felt my eyes burn from unshed tears, as all the ugly memories from years back came rushing like a tsunami, threatening to take me with them.

"Arthur, how can you do this? You promised me it was your last mistake. You didn't even think about Lia?" Mom shouted at dad.
"Enough Lexi! I am tired of all this crap." Dad shouted back.
I covered my ears with my hands to stop all the noise. But it didn't help. I felt tears slipping from my eyes.
"What do you mean Arthur? What crap?"
"Our relationship Lexi. Our marriage. I think we have grown out of love. I love someone else. I tried to stop myself but I couldn't. And now,..I want divorce."
His words hit me like a punch in the gut.
"You are leaving us for another woman? Arthur how can you be so selfish and inconsiderate? What will I say to Lia? How will I make her understand all this?" Mom's voice shivered as she let out those words.
"Oh finally. Finally you got your senses my son. Finally after so many years you decided that she is not the right one for you. I am glad we can get rid of this garbage now."
I heard grandma say.
"Mom, atleast you should not be talking like this. You are a woman yourself. How can you support him in cheating?" She looked at grandma in disbelief.
"Oh shut up. I have never wanted you. I have almost convinced my son to dump you years back. But that daughter of yours, she ruined everything. She came in between and I was forced to bear with both of you for so many years. And now, I can finally throw you back on the road, where people like you belong. I don't want you here anymore."

"Lia, baby stay with me. You'll have everything here." Dad asked me.
"But, mom is going dad. Please stop her. We will stay together." I requested him, wishing for a miracle to change his mind.
He took a deep breath before he started again. "Lia, baby your mom wants to go. But you don't worry about her. I'll be here for you. And you will have a new mom. She will take care of you." Dad was cupping my face gently in his hands.
