Chapter 9: Dead to me, and everyone else - Pt.2

Berry's robot hands were pulsating a bright blue which made Kitan wince a bit. "Impressive, let's see what you got, little girl!" Then Berry replied with, "Here, take this," Berry threw Kitan's katana to her. "Thanks, but no thanks" Berry grinned ferociously and stood up gracefully. "Let's see how you hold up..." Kitan said. "I feel great!" Berry replied. Berry slammed her palms together and said, "Eat this!" A beam of electricity shot at Kitan, making her knock backwards. "Gosh-" Berry softened her grin and started recklessly shooting beams of electricity from her hand, not knowing where she was aiming at. Kitan effortlessly weaved and dodged her attacks, but Kitan knew something was off, as she sprinted close towards Berry, her smile slowly turned into a grim expression, making Kitan feel uneasy. When Kitan was extremely close to Berry, she created her long, blue robot hand to grab Kitan and pull her to Berry's face. When she did, she raised her other robot hand and it started to gyrate extremely fast. Berry plunged the robot arm into Kitan, making her blare. Flesh and guts spread everywhere, partially blinding Berry. "Now you look just like me!" Berry exclaimed, and she pulled out her robot hand from Kitan's stomach and immediately she fell into a heap of blood. "Oh! oh! give it up! give up already! Looks like you ate your words... ate those delicious words..." Berry said viciously. Berry then stopped for a moment and approached Kitan's quivering face. "No offence but, you're dead to me, and will soon be to everyone else..." Kitan started to sob and whimper, but Berry just looked at her in disgust. "I thought you'd be stronger with that... thingy..." Kitan was almost paralysed and couldn't say anything in response. Berry dragged Kitan and limped to the tree she was once sleeping next to. Berry placed Kitan near the tree. But, Berry walked behind the tree and started clawing and punching on it. Kitan was flailing about and wailing loudly, but Berry wasn't bothered at all. "It's better if you don't move..." she muttered. But promptly, the large apple tree toppled over and crushed Kitan. Chunks of flesh and substantial quantities of carmine blood surrounded the tree, making Berry draw her face back. She hopped onto the fallen tree, walked across it, sat down on it and looked at the ring of daylight. "This better have been worth it... meh... sounds promising anyway..." And with that, Berry slowly dozed off on the apple tree. She woke up at night. It was a full moon and the stars illuminated the purple-ish sky. Tired and emotionless, she heard a soft beating, almost like a heartbeat. Berry got up from the tree and snapped her head back and forth, trying to find where it was coming from. She then saw Below's body, motionless looking. But there was a small, black branch with a red heart covered with black goo next to it. It smelled concerningly invigorating, making her almost drool. Berry instantly picked it from its branch and ate it. She took small bites and sat next to Below's body. Berry also ploughed through the raspberries she had. The strange food that she ate tasted abnormal, making her a bit worried. Nothing else happened from then on. She just looked at Below's dead body, emotionless. Berry then got up and started walking to the ring of daylight. Finally, she got to the ring of daylight. There was a slight, worn-out electric fence and a small wooden gate that she didn't look see when she saw it from a distance. Lots of lights were on in the ring of daylight and everything was people were scuttling through the streets and everything was bustling. She walked inside and immediately she felt at home. There were markets, stalls, and cottages. Berry had never seen a village before. Berry looked at the flask she had on and realised she had the money she got from VeloCity inside, but she wasn't hungry because she had eaten that... heart thingy?... but then she realised they probably had fruits since this was a fairly rural area. Berry ran through the bustling streets and paths to find a raspberry, or fruit stall. She finally found a big stall with lots of fruits in front of it. Berry just noticed that her forehead didn't hurt anymore, she didn't bother touching it because it might bring back the pain if she tampered with it. Berry sat down on the stool and paid 20 dawn for the raspberries, but these looked different to the ones she'd seen... these were... bigger... way bigger. The female stall owner pulled out a big raspberry, one you could perfectly fit in the palm of your hand. Berry was utterly mesmerised by the sight, and bit into it fiercely. "Where do you guys get these types of raspberries?" Berry said while chewing it intensely. The stall owner replied, "Well, we put a special mixture in them to make them as big as they are!" The stall owner had 2 big, yellow ponytails, yellow eyes, a yellow stripey shirt, a long yellow skirt and a cheerful smile plastered on her face. "These are the best raspberries I've ever had!"Then, a brown-skinned boy, who looked about the same age as Berry, sat on the stool next to her. "Can I get a dozen oranges, Mitten?" She nodded joyfully, grabbed a few oranges and put them in a plastic box. "Your name is Mitten? Nice name!" Berry said. "Hey... are you new here?" The boy said. "Yeah," Berry said with a piece of raspberry in her mouth. "Jeez, what happened to your head?" The boy said awkwardly. The boy was wearing a grey hoodie and comfortable-looking shorts. he had extremely short black hair and dark brown eyes. Berry ate the last pieces of the huge raspberry and faced the boy. "Long story..." Berry uttered. "What's your name? My name's Abdul" He said. "Berry" She stated. "One more thing... your eyes are a greenish-redish Color... what did you eat today?" Abdul said. "I ate this red and black meaty thing on a weird branch, but it smelled good..." Abdul looked at Berry alarmingly and said, "Oh god! Oh god! You shouldn't have eaten that! Oh frick!" Berry looked confused. "They are called Spoils! They lure you in with an alluring smell and poison you!" Berry spat out the last remaining lumps of raspberry in her mouth directly at Abdul. "Sorry, I was just sneezing" Berry wiped her nose and Abdul signalled to Berry to follow him. "See you, Mitten! I Just gotta urgently take care of um... Berry, I think?" Abdul shouted. "Okay! Bye, Abdul!" Mitten said in response.

And so, the midnight breeze whisked them along...
