"I leave it all to you Seras... You and Alucard will have to do it without me." The dying words of the woman that started it all... Integra Fairbook Wingates Hellsing.
Her final order, to slaughter Millennium and maintain the Hellsing organization.

With the battle won, Seras became the new leader of the Hellsing organization, Pip stood by her side, so to speak, Alucard was there but without a master he was... Lost.

He always looked like he was lost in space, as if something was missing from his life. He would often sulk in his room and try to think about what it was that he needed.
He would sit there for hours while Seras handled all the paperwork and other things, Integra left a big responsibility for them both. Seras would often drown in paperwork and end up working day by day and night by night.

Alucard then would roam through the old ruins where it all happened, where he watched his master die, where he watched his nemesis almost lose his life to help them.

Alucard was often torn on what to do with this, he never felt this way except for once in his thousands of lives.
He looked amongst the rubble and saw something shine out of the corner of his eye. It was Alexander Anderson's cross necklace.

Even if it was a trivial matter, he knew it meant something to the Judas priest, so he grabbed it and intended on returning it.
Alucard made his way to Italy to find Anderson but it was the black of night so he assumed the paladin would be asleep.

Anderson was indeed asleep but he laid his head on his desk, several accident reports, serving notices, and many other papers lay scattered underneath him.

Anderson had been working day and night to save his orphanage, he looked after all those children and he felt obligated to protect them. Alucard snuck into the room through the big window inside the paladin's room, the curtains flew with the small breeze as Alucard landed softly on the wood floor.
He would look over to Alexander and notice he hasn't been sleeping much, he had bags under his eyes and an exhausted expression on his face.

Alucard did his best not to wake the sleeping priest and set the necklace down beside him, then he grabbed a blanket, draping it over Alexander's shoulders.
He didn't want him catching a cold then suddenly a memory from his past struck him like a knife.

He had done this before, time and time again... It was always the paladin, he shook away the thought and left as quickly as he had arrived.

Alucard couldn't figure out why he was seeing these memories but there had to be an explanation for all of it.
He made his way back to London to see Seras asleep and in bed. She had overworked herself and needed rest.

Since no one was awake Alucard took an evening stroll, he stared up at the moon, it had a brilliant, luminous glow to it...
Alucard thought that it was a beautiful night, he then thought of his trip to Anderson and couldn't help but smile. The paladin wasn't going to leave his thoughts... Not now, not ever.

He was in quite the predicament, a vampire count, slowly falling for a Judas priest. The thought alone made Alucard laugh, "let's see how long this will take us, Father Anderson.".

He smirked as he stared up at the moon and he wondered... Who in the world could ever love someone like him...?
